Police say suspect behind two separate shootings involving officers
OAKLAND, Calif. - Four officers were in critical condition and a suspect dead on Saturday after gunfire at a traffic stop led to a massive manhunt that ended in a shootout, police said.
Two officers were shot in the first incident just after 1 p.m. after they stopped the suspect's vehicle in east Oakland, said Oakland police spokesman Jeff Thomason.
The suspect fled the scene on foot into a nearby neighborhood, police said, leading to an intense manhunt by dozens of Oakland police, California Highway Patrol officers and Alameda County sheriff deputies.
Streets were roped off and an entire area of east Oakland shut to traffic.

He was on probation following an ADW conviction. We don’t keep ‘em long these days. The no bail warrant was probably related to violating the conditions of his probation.

Hmmmm this shooter was making head shots fast and furious...... this ain’t no tweeker they stopped. That is some skilled point shooting.

Complacency kills......yet the SWAT sorts would have been on top of their game going in after this POS. This will be an interesting after action report. 2nd only to the Miami FiBi shootout and the Hollywood BOA robbery IMO.

No That is how the OPD referred to the 2nd weapon. I am aware of what a true assault weapon is but in Kalifornia that is standard “news speak” for “Ugly Black Military looking Rifle”. There was no reference to automatic weapons fire.

Held responsible only in the immediacy of the situation, who knows how the media will interpret this. With our luck, after all the speculation, the perp will turn out to be an Amish tourist from Lancaster.

This was a black guy. Before we knew the name odds were on this being a black guy because it’s Oakland a black gangbanger community. Sorry to be blunt, but not every city or every crime in California is done by illegals.
