Complacency kills......yet the SWAT sorts would have been on top of their game going in after this POS. This will be an interesting after action report. 2nd only to the Miami FiBi shootout and the Hollywood BOA robbery IMO.

I want to read about the 2nd incident, and see what type of weapon was used, the ranges, and where he was aiming.
Somebody who always practices head shots is VERY dangerous if he’s a good shot. There are people who can shoot head sized targets at up to 50 feet faster than most people can shoot torsos. And I am dead serious about that. Some tactical units I could mention don’t even practice the old “2-1” any more, they consider it a waste of time with microseconds count and there are multiple bad guy shooter. They go right for the head from the first shot. And they don’t miss.

Frankly stunning - you know the SWAT guys were going in hot, and this is Oakland PD - well equipped, trained and experienced veteran SWAT. Hardly backwater SRT.
To even slow those guys down takes incredible skill and determination, this perp was either very lucky or very good, or both.
