EVANSTON, Ill., March 21 -- As she headed into the morning sunshine to talk up President Obama's $3.6 trillion budget proposal, Althea Thomas counted herself a citizen and a partisan picking up where she left off Nov. 4, backing the president she helped elect.
"It's the change we all voted on," said Thomas, one of about 40 volunteers who fanned out from the Democratic Party headquarters here with clipboards, pledge cards and a sense of mission that flowed from their support of Obama when he was a candidate.
The Obama administration and the Democratic National Committee opened a new chapter Saturday in their ambitious project to convert the energy from last year's campaign into a force for legislative reform on health care, climate change, education and taxes.
More than 1,200 groups from Maine to Hawaii spent the day gathering signatures in support of Obama's economic plan, the first step in building what the White House hopes will be a standing political army ready to do battle.
Seeking to create a grass-roots force on a scale never seen before, Obama called the volunteers into action in a video message reminiscent of the 2008 contest. In defense of his budget, under attack from many quarters, he asked his supporters to go "block by block and door by door."
In his Saturday radio address, Obama called his budget "an economic blueprint for our future." He said, "I didn't come here to pass on our problems to the next president or the next generation. I came here to solve them."
The idea of deploying a grass-roots army for legislative purposes is untested. Unlike a political campaign, where ballots are simple, if blunt, instruments that produce winners and losers on a fixed date, a policy campaign is amorphous.

I sure hope one of these koolade drinkers comes to my door.
I have some questions for them.
“I didn’t come here to pass on our problems to the next president or the next generation. I came here to solve them.”

FUBO you aren’t fooling most people. We know exactly what your plans are. You will fail.
i think today’s cnn story about some citizens going to an AIG dude’s house must have been composed of obama brownshirts. one woman, a black woman whose home is supposedly about to be forclosed on, was the semi-spokesman but im not sure what her stake was in this whole mess. that’s why i thought she mustve been part of some brown shirt operation.
This is the DNC canvassing for names to bother for donations.
Yep, the “Great Leap Forward” and the “Cultural Revolution”
are two prime examples, and based on the cult of personality
too.
Well I’m sure Carter is home smiling and feeling a bit better about himself, Obama has now taken his spot!
They are the very embodiment of “useful idiots”.
They didn’t hit my town or neighborhood, in suburban Bergen County New Jersey. We are majority Republican; they won’t bother with us, because it’s bound to slow them up.
This is an entirely WORTHLESS project, which I am sure is being funded with our tax dollars, to boot. THE MOST it could ever accomplish is a reasonable facsimile of the 53% that voted for Obama, but it’s likely to reflect, no matter how you cut it , way more than the majority, because, as I said, in tried and true fashion, like a biased survey, they’re going to leave out those proven pockets of resistance. They will point to numbers and stilted statistics to show just how deep their support is.
Someone is going to have to debunk this idiot game.
Is it against the law to video these guys when they come to your door?

The bots didn’t show up here. (Corpus Christi, Tx)
I was ready for ‘em.
No Bots in my “hood”. Maybe they are still busy smoking crack and pimpin the Ho’s.
I did too. I was waiting all day. I thought I might ask THEM for THEIR signatures on my petition to get Obama impeached.
Also, I just fertilized my garden with 10 fresh bags of manure and thought it would be a great metaphor in sharing with them how bad 0’s budget stinks.;)
Ping to 31.:)
The creepy call to action video message from Obama, the leader of the cult:

The creepy Training Video featuring one of the cult leader’s loyal followers, sent to 13 million fellow cult members:

Think of this as Card Check for the voting public. They are accosted by a smiling cult member at their front door or in a busy public place and asked to sign a pledge card supporting the cult leader’s message.
If they resist, the cult member is trained to be pleasantly persistent until the potential new cult member caves in and signs the pledge card and gives up all of their contact information.
After collecting as many signatures as possible, the cult member goes home and obediently enters the contact information into the cult database.
Those who signed the pledge and gave their contact information are then contacted repeatedly with message after message encouraging them to support and actively spread the message of the cult leader.
This is the most terrifying thing I’ve ever seen in America!
That’s funny, 444. There were no knocks around here either. I am sure the number of supporters have dropped significantly from before November. At this point it’s probably either based pride or ignorance.
I came across an older article regarding how to keep Obama’s youth mobilized: Strange stuff been going on.
http://www.prospect.org/cs/articles?article=how_do_we_keep_obamas_youth_mobilized
What a pile of slop. If a Republican ever tried this, the focal point of the article would have been interviews with people who turned the door knockers away.
Look at the crap they have already sold....namely Obama himself. And Biden. And Geithner. And bailouts #5, 6, 7, and 8!
You can fool all of the people some of the time and you can fool some of the people all the time but you can't fool all the people all of the time......51% is enough!
>>>We should put the moonbat rantings on youtube.<<<
They are already there. Video from a training class for canvasing volunteers....
