“Impeding the flow of traffic” was against the law in my homestate too.
Illegal or unconstitutional they may be, but I have to come up with $40 by April 14 nonetheless.
It’s been reported that Chuck Schumer was spotted racing to get to the location before the camera is removed.
a Prince George’s County judge
The 6th Amendment to the United States Constitution as incorporated through the 14th Amendment to the Constitution states that “in all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to. . . be confronted with the witnesses against him. . .”

These cases are being won by citizens all over the country.
Clearly, Jefferson did not live in Montgomery County.
fyi
“...when he was snapped and slapped with a ticket for stopping too late.”
Kinda like when 60 Minutes starts inserting gay couples as typical homeowners getting scammed.
I thought the purpose of the cameras was to prevent red-light runners, who cause nasty accidents. The last time I checked, people who stop too late (i.e., a bit over the line), do not cause accidents.
I also noticed that red light cameras here in Houston flash much more frequently than before. Initially, they looked for runners, now the patrol “the line”. Anyone care to guess why? Hint: it’s not safety.
The big threat after democrat over-development and traffic is democrats are pushing for speed trap cameras again run by private companies, and would include roving speed trap cameras.
I will send this link to those I know who live in PG county
I’ve been stopped twice for going through a red light. Both times, the light changed as I neared the intersection, the roadway was wet and in that split second I decided it was safer to proceed then to lock up my breaks. Pulled over by the police, I explained that to the officer and BOTH times they let me go with a warning. THATS the importance of having a living , reasoning person in the loop.
I live in Howard County also. Traffic is getting pretty bad where development continues in areas where the county once said they wouldn’t allow any more development, because traffic was getting too heavy.
I cannot imagine how bad it is going to get when the buildings currently under construction on Fort Meade open. In the next five years, 8,000 more people are going to be using the same roads that are congested today.
I was here back when HC was republicans and NAACP was complaining about HC keeping crime out, and the BaltSun complained we dont welcome the poor and drug addicts and single Moms because they couldnt afford to live here. Alas, Bush and Clinton and big tax libs have taken over.
Robey was the downfall and he is promoting the speeding cameras after allowing unlimited development. Sadly, he was once a good police chief,
The county bought the apartment complex in Columbia where I live six months ago. They have begun to work towards 40% low income residency, a process that the county claims will take 4 years. I'll wait and see what it does to the neighborhood before I panic and move, but I'm not expecting good things.
I work with a guy who grew up on the same street, and he no longer goes to visit friends who still live in the same condo complex, 100 yards down the street from where I live. Funny thing is, he's black, and the areas/situations that make me nervous also make him nervous.
The youngsters are not gangsters, but they are pretend gangsters. I'm concerned about what could happen to tip them over the edge.
Cough, cough, bullshit, cough!
Maryland "Freak State" PING!
I live near Columbia but would never live in there. You pay to the Columbia association dues?
Columbia is the liberal base of HC now, promoting the section 8 housing across the county , Wild Lake, Oakland Mills huge druggie crime centers in a rich county. Normandy shopping center/town and Country in EC is bad too. Many years ago HC passed a anti-discrimination law against rejecting those with section 8 vouchers for rent. We also have homo anti-discrimination laws too.
Odds are, you didn't actually "miscalculate" - the federal standards on yellow light timing based on approach speeds are often ignored by governments and private contractors conspiring to use the cameras as cash cows, and the yellow light time is deliberately shortened in order to create more violations.
Check out the National Motorists' Association - they're spearheading many fights against automated enforcement.
