Explosive new Rasmussen report: Americans want Obama to accept Geithner’s resignation or boot him
The Collins Report ^ | March 23, 2009 | Kevin “Coach” Collins

An explosive new Rasmussen report screams, “America wants Tim Geithner dumped!”

Washington insiders both Democrats and Republicans (including McCain of course) love him, but we want him gone. The disconnect between Washington and real America on Geithner is startlingly large.

The gang on Capital Hill might be fooled or afraid to say otherwise, but average Americans aren’t. The latest telephone survey tells a very different story. Only 12% of taxpaying Americans have a favorable opinion of Geithner and only 11% said his job performance so far is good or excellent.

Tax cheat Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner was appointed without any genuine qualifications. Now only Obama’s incompetence overshadows his own bungling ineptitude.

His “deer in the headlights” reaction to Barack Obama’s recession has exposed him as a fraud. When his tax cheating and employing an illegal alien is added to his inability to improve things, Main Street doesn’t like him and wants him gone.

Rasmussen reports the chasm between Washington and Main Street is huge and irreparable. The Washington crowd thinks Geithner is doing a fine job. More than 3 of 4 have a favorable opinion of him with two thirds saying he is doing a good or excellent job handling Obama’s recession. Three quarters of Americans think otherwise.

Among all respondents, his favorable/unfavorable numbers are sharply different at 24/44, but his “good or excellent” versus “poor” ratings are still worse.

On the question of whether Geithner’s work could be described as POOR, 53% of real Americans tagged Tax Cheat Tim with that rating and NOT A SINGLE politician used it.

Whether Geithner will resign or be fired is now a question of how quickly Obama throws him under the bus, which may be soon. If Obama threw his White grandmother between the Greyhound’s wheels, Geithner should keep his bags packed.

This is building very nicely. If Obama was asked by See-B.S. about Geithner he has to be in some degree of trouble.

Remember boys & girls - polls only count when it is a Republican administration, all other negative poll results are caused by racism.

But Timmy makes such a great whipping post. In Obama’s world, better Timmy than me :)

Bill had Janet Reno as his whipping boy.

Yep! Timothy did what he was told to do from Obama. Now, Obama is making the pretext of standing by his man, but the man will go. And then, Obama will find another fool to take Geitner's place. This one won't be a tax cheat, but won't be in finance, either. /sarcasm

Geitner isn’t the root problem.

Heh. Fire Turbo Timmy and there’d be nobody but janitors over at Treasury. BIG BIG stock market rally today and tomorrow probably on this TALF nonsense, could even go longer. Nice distraction, beautiful scheme for the banks.

I agree.

Obamabots can’t bring themselves to blame Obama so they’ll blame Geithner instead.

Who but socialists and sociopaths would laugh on national television while describing their countrymen’s increasing economic burdens?

Is Obama a sociopath or a socialist or both?

I would love Geitner if he accepted Obama’s resignation.
Barack Chavez thinks he’s the president of a South American nation.

I agree. After the dot-com bubble burst, the money boys infled the housing bubble as the only place to go.

So what!

Obama already laughed at public opinion on 60 Minutes.

Is it really “explosive,” or is this just blogger hyperbole?

Its been said before - - - until you expose that:

Geithner's DAD worked with Obama's MOM,

you may not full understand the bond they have. Break the bond and you can make hay.
