Dwayne Cross, 41, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, was sentenced to 12 months of probation and ordered to perform 100 hours of community service.

Dwayne needs to be locked in a cage for at least ten years.

Excuse me for asking the obvious.... But why would the Feral Gooberment collect records of passport usage by citizens?

What part of the Constitution authorizes or delegates that to the Feds?

And was the employee prosecuted under State or federal law?

And if under federal law, what authorizes the feds to prosecute, outside of the crimes listed in the Constitution?

We have sorely fallen, when we have a mess like this.

I wonder if these employees are falling on their swords for their dear leader like it appears Dodd will do... Did these people throw themselves under the bus, or did they not get “protected” as they thought their dear leader would do for them???

I’m still assuming at this point that the breaking in to the passport records wasn’t just to READ or LOOK at them!

This arrogant SOB gets off with 12 months probation? This has nothing to do with politics, it’s the fact that he thought that he could get away with breaking into private records just because he could. Violations of public trust should be treated more harshly. Did he do any harm to Clinton, Obama, or McCain? Probably not, but he sure violated the trust of the people, and that should be worth more than 12 months probation.

Yeah, but look who he worked for: John Brennan . No wonder he only got off with probation and "community service". They will probably consider working for ACORN "community service "

I don’t care whose passport file he violated, he needs to be sent to prison for a long time. If it had been my passport or that of my wife or children, I would be pissed.

But, now we do know that Obama holds a U.S. Passport and that passport and the application would show his place of birth. However, no one the snooped in his passport files claims that the documents show he was born in Kenya.

Ahhh, the employee gets fired while the guy in charge gets to work in the White House.

Obama’s top terrorism and intelligence adviser, John O. Brennan, heads a firm that was cited in March for breaching sensitive files in the State Department’s passport office, according to a State Department Inspector General’s report released this past July.

The security breach, first reported by the Washington Times and later confirmed by State Department spokesman Sean McCormack, involved a contract employee of Brennan’s firm,

During a State Department briefing on March 21, 2008, McCormack confirmed that the contractor had accessed the passport files of presidential candidates Barack Obama, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and John McCain, and that the inspector general had launched an investigation.

Sources who tracked the investigation say that the main target of the breach was the Obama passport file, and that the contractor accessed the file in order to “cauterize” the records of potentially embarrassing information.

“They looked at the McCain and Clinton files as well to create confusion,” one knowledgeable source said. “But this was basically an attempt to cauterize the Obama file.”

At the time of the breach, Brennan was working as an unpaid adviser to the Obama campaign.

Here's a link. Former Employee Sentenced for Accessing Passport Files

Dwayne Cross, 41, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, was sentenced to 12 months of probation and Cross, a contract employee with access to the private files, pled guilty to accessing passport applications of more than 150 politicians, actors, musicians, athletes, models and other celebrities, the Justice Department announced.

Seems Dwayne was a busy bee accessing over 150 people's passports. "ordered to perform 100 hours of community service" - that'll really teach him not to be nosy.

Thanks for the link. I still believe that the purpose was to scrub Obama’s file and the ‘others’ on the list were just a ‘cover’.
