EPA Declares CO2 A Public Danger

The EPA has officially declared that CO2 is endangering the public's health and welfare. This means that there will be new pressure on businesses to cut their emissions.

It also sets the stage for cap and trade legislation:

WSJ: A finding that CO2 is a threat to public health and welfare also would ratchet up pressure on Congress to enact a system that caps greenhouse gases and creates a market for businesses to buy and sell the right to emit them, as President Barack Obama has proposed.

"In related news, you can drown from evil H20."

Thousands of people are killed by dihydrogen monoxide, more commonly known as hydrogen oxide, every year. It should be banned.

Stupid for any number of reasons, but reason number one is that it attacks the “problem” at the wrong end. If the EPA, President Obama or anyone else on the “Global Warming” bus were really serious about cutting back on CO2 emissions, they would want to regulate the production of fossil fuels, not their use. But as anyone who really thinks about this will realize: They Aren’t Serious! What they really want is control. The average liberal hates corporations, old money, or any other form of capitalism you can think of so bad their teeth hurt. They want to tell us what to do, what to eat, where we can go, where to set our thermostat, etc. Just as there seems to be no end “news” stories about what “Global Warming” causes, there will be no end to what left-wing governments will impose on people in its name. We are in for a very unpleasant ride.

The EPA should immediately ban Congressional hearings as they are prodigious generators of CO2.

Also, they should order an immediate 50% reduction in the size of the Federal workforce for the same reason.

You are exactly correct.

Oxygen is not even the major component of our atmosphere.

“Dry air contains roughly (by volume) 78.08% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.038% carbon dioxide, and trace amounts of other gases.”

In my college dorm room, the trace gases were considerably higher.

Too little and of course we die, too much and the air spontaneously combusts.

Don't let the GW alarmists know that.

If they knew that the percent of OXYGEN in the atmosphere is much more critical than the amount of CO2, they would be able to tax us for taking a breath.

Of course they could tax us for breathing out, but then they would have to know that we exhale CO2, which seems to be beyond their comprehension.
