"Not seeing a lot of devaluation yet. No, not in the last few months we haven't. But, I guess I was referring to the last 5-8 years. The Dollar certainly has declined over this period and I think it's clearly due to the printing of money. This "shaking of the money tree" is only going to increase exponentially the next 4 years and the subsequent 5 years under the proposed Obama plan.
The only hope is that the Dollar decline will be relative to other major currencies - as this is a global recession and possibly depression. Things will be very bad from a monetary standpoint, but perhaps our relative position won't be quite as dire.
To: Big_Monkey
but perhaps our relative position won't be quite as dire I'd bet a few U.S. dollars that our relative position won't be bad at all, and that includes gold. Even if the dollar is doomed it will take decades to fade away.

soldier i totally disagree with you. it doesnt matter what obama does it matters what the fed is doing along with treasury and it doesnt help that zero is spending like a drunken sailor. our dollar is going to plummet and there will be nothing they can do about it. they are just prolonging a depression.

. . . they are just prolonging a depression. I disagree. They are not prolonging any potential depression. They are intentionally setting out to create a depression, and have been for a number of years now. If they were truly interested in fixing the economy, and thereby preventing a depression, they would not be in the process of trying to socialize Wall Street and the Banking industry.

...Yer right, there are others speaking to this issue. Paul’s wrong about some things, right about other issues. The problem is the bigots that won’t look at the issue and stereotypically call someone a kook for other issues they may disagree with...

May I ask: Who did you support in your states primary/candidate selection process? If your choice wasn't chosen: did you sit at home during the election pout and talk about how pure your thoughts are, support a 3rd party choice or realize that Mccain was a better choice that obama.

I supported Fred also, BUT I realized that McCain was a better choice than obama so I didn’t waste my vote on a loon like ru paul. You remind me of some of the people here in TN that almost helped put ford in the senate. Hilleary and Byrant split the vote and Corker got the nomination, what happened then: the pure ones sat at home and whined the party wouldn’t listen to them, so they weren’t going to vote. Wake up people, acting like two year olds if everyone doesn’t think like you do does nothing but help the left
