We're To Blame? Yep!

Hitlery's Latest:

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - An "insatiable" appetite in the United States for illegal drugs is to blame for much of the violence ripping through Mexico, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Wednesday.

Clinton acknowledged the U.S. role in Mexico's drug cartel problem as she arrived in Mexico for a two-day visit where she will discuss U.S. plans to ramp up border security with President Felipe Calderon.

Dateline, 1920s, Chicago - and virtually every other city in America.

Prohibition.

Did we stop people from drinking, even though it was against the law?

Nope.

Did we fuel criminal gangs with lots of money, enabling them to buy weapons and terrorize the public?

Yep.

Did we learn a damn thing from this sorry episode in American history when it comes to prohibiting the consensual use of intoxicating substances by adults?

Absolutely not.

Maybe this economic dislocation will provide the same impetus for legalization, licensing and taxation that The Depression did for booze - the appearance of the almighty dollar sign in politicians eyes as other tax revenues inexorably shrink towards zero.

Hope springs eternal for a sensible action from our nation, after nearly one hundred years of stupidity in relationship to drug control policy throughout the United States.

If Hillary really wants to de-nut the Mexican Drug Gangs (and the drug gangs in this country) the most effective way to do so is to destroy their ability to make a profit, and there is only one way to accomplish that.

Is drug use in the US on the rise, flat or declining?

Unless there has been a dramatic increase in illicit drug consumption in the US, Ms Clinton is full of sh*t as is usual.

Of course, it is possible drug use has climbed correspondent with the high levels of immigration from south of the border. Who's to blame then?

According to her there are no addicts south of the Rio Grande, and all illegal weapons come from America.

"Is drug use in the US on the rise, flat or declining?"

I don't know if it is or not, but one thing I do know is that if we would end our senseless prohibition on our side of the border, it would pull the rug out from under the drug cartels in Mexico that supply our illicit drug users. Their profits from drugs would vanish almost overnight. Much of the gang violence in our inner cities would also be reduced, because much of that violence is because of drugs being in a black market. Also, ending prohibition would do FAR more to reduce crimes committed with firearms MUCH more than any stupid gun control law ever could.

We’re to blame for electing these clowns. Unfortunately these idiots are hell bent on committing societal suicide and taking us along for the ride. They think that government in their hands is a suicide pact.

Please remember that if you drink, you ARE using drugs. Alcohol is a drug, & it's an addictive & violence-inducing drug -- we must never forget that.

IMO, separating alcohol from drugs is similar to separating "Arkansan" (in my case anyway, so you can add your state here) from "American".

Now, what was that story about one of the clinton brothers overdosing on cocain and falling into a garbage can. I can’t seem to find it at the moment.

See here! If the law abiding citizens of Mexico were allowed to keep and bear arms, they would deal with the criminals. If the violence spills across the border, the violence would be well advised to do so someplace besides Texas.

Horseshirt. They'd do anything to maintain their cash flow, including go to war against the suburbs. You have no idea how these thugs think.

The war won’t last long if there isn’t any money to be made. No drugs -> No money -> No war.
