The First and Best Biotechnician
by Brian Thomas, M.S.*
Mankinds attempts at bioengineering have yet to match the precision of some techniques already found in nature: cloning, tissue culturing, and gene therapy. Recent studies have explored how these processes operate in amoebas, aphids, and parasitic wasps, respectively...

ping!
We listen to a Christ honoring children songs cd in the car. One of the songs says, “Who can make a flower, etc.” I started thinking. God made a flower, made a butterfly, made a mountain, and made me. All infinitely complex and infinitely different. Men, who are smarter than God don’t you know, spend their entire life and great portions of their day trying to figure out if a hippo is a pig, a horse, or a whale. And spend their life trying to gather materials God made into one clunky robot that barely works.
“These genes are introduced by the wasp when she lays eggs inside the caterpillar.”
As I get older, and more disgusted by things, I’m starting to hate insect more and more.

Who can take a sunrise, sprinkle it with dew
Cover it with choc’late and a miracle or two
The Candy Man, oh the Candy Man can
The Candy Man can ‘cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good
Who can take a rainbow, wrap it in a sigh
Soak it in the sun and make a groovy lemon pie
The Candy Man, the Candy Man can
The Candy Man can ‘cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good
The Candy Man makes everything he bakes satisfying and delicious
Now you talk about your childhood wishes, you can even eat the dishes
Oh, who can take tomorrow, dip it in a dream
Separate the sorrow and collect up all the cream
The Candy Man, oh the Candy Man can
The Candy Man can ‘cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good
The Candy Man makes everything he bakes satisfying and delicious
Talk about your childhood wishes, you can even eat the dishes
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Who can take tomorrow, dip it in a dream
Separate the sorrow and collect up all the cream
The Candy Man, the Candy Man can
The Candy Man can ‘cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good
Yes, the Candy Man can ‘cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good
a-Candy Man, a-Candy Man, a-Candy Man
Candy Man, a-Candy Man, a-Candy Man
Candy Man, a-Candy Man, a-Candy Man
Researcher #1: What have we found?
R#2: Nothing yet. I tried EVERYTHING i could think of and it still doesn’t make sense.
R#1: That leaves only one conclusion.
R#2: Let someone else have a try?
R#1: Are you kidding me? And go through all that trouble? besides, everyone will think you’re a big dummy if you can’t figure it out.
R#2: Then what?
R#1: Simple, just tell them that it’s always been there, which just proves that god did it. Nothing else can explain it, certainly nothing that I learned in school.
