Actually, there is an "indoctrinator" at the school in which I teach who presents this movie to her class as fact. In response to this outrage (since the administration apparently approves of this "curriculum"), I have now implemented a research unit in my English class whereby students are to research BOTH sides of the global warming debate and present the facts versus the fiction of the phenomenon. Many of the students do not find that the information is enough to change their minds on the subject (too brainwashed to help), while several DO see the light and have actually begun to CHALLENGE this other teacher on the movie's claims.
I am doing all I can to affect change without indoctrinating the students myself. When many of them learn that there exist two sides to the debate, they look puzzled and I feel as though I have done my small part to make them more objective thinkers...

I have downloaded it for convenient playing to liberal goofs that buy into this clap trap. It's about 700MB and very good quality. There are any number of free download tools that will let you pull the video from YouTube. DownloadHelper is a plug in for Firefox and works great.

Oh, by all means present it, but at the same time, they should present the other side, by showing “The Great Global Warming Swindle”. That way, the kids can see REAL science, as opposed to demagoguery, and understand how propaganda is used by the AGW people.

"I always tell my sons to just ignore the teacher and the nonsense that passes for knowledge in the public schools." Unfortunately that advice doesn't appear to be working. Just look at that last Presidential Election!

You can contact the principal and request that the student be allowed to participate in another activity while the movie is shown. You can object based on the fact that it is promoting a type of religion, ‘environmentalism’. You can object because it is not academic, but political as well.
To: dvan
In fact, you should request a classroom with scientific instruction on weather or atmospheric science and let other parents know so they can have their students go to that class instead of the movie.

That’s also a very good idea. Make a dentist appointment for that day or something.

One way I have helped my 4th grader daughter understand the dangers posed by the whacko environmentalist movement was to show her the
Penn & Teller video about the campaign to ban dihydrogen monoxide.
We had a big laugh about it, and about how the government can use environmental nonsense as an excuse to take away our freedom and run every detail of our lives. We have talked about the Obama administration's move to regulate carbon dioxide, and the impact this unprecedented power grab will have on our every day lives.
We have also talked about how I will support her in pushing back if the global warming religionists try to bring their agenda into the curriculum at her public school.

This excellent video refuts AIT line by line.
Apocalypse? NO! Why ‘global warming’ is not a global crisis

Why ‘global warming’ is not a global crisis Are Al Gore and the UN right about global warming being a planetary emergency? NO! says the Viscount Monckton of Brenchley in a devastating 2007 presentation delivered at Cambridge University. Watch Lord Monckton place climate science into largely layman terms, exposing climate scare after climate scare.

I agree this video destroys Algore’s video. FReepmail me and I’ll send you a free copy.

By the way...there is a short and long version of this on the video. The short one is perfect for a classroom...34 minutes plus the Q & A.
