WASHINGTON – The Mexican government is not on the verge of collapse, the top U.S. intelligence official said Thursday, seeking to tamp down increasing alarm over the powerful and violent drug cartels operating in the country that is the United States' southern neighbor.

"Mexico is in no danger of becoming a failed state," said National Intelligence Director Dennis Blair at his first news conference Thursday.

Echoing the assessment of Mexico's leaders, Blair said the dramatic increase in killings in Mexico is a result of that government's crackdown on drug cartels.

With Obama at the helm, it’s possible the U.S. will fall before Mexico does.

It’s been in danger of collapse or mob rule for years.

Corrupt politicians. Drug/Crime cartels. Bandits rule the country-side. Military rules self.

Nationalization has sapped the resources and squandered them

Collapse is inevitable. Whether this year or next.

The government is corrupt and in bed with the narco traffickers. There is nothing to collapse.

"Mexico is in no danger of becoming a failed state...

If you have to deny it, it is probably true.

"Mexico America is in no danger of becoming a failed state," said National Intelligence Director Dennis Blair at his first news conference Thursday, as he accepted "mysterious donations" from Hillary Clinton of the State Department.

Fixed it. ;)

Official: Mexico not in danger of collapse

Rule of thumb: if you have to SAY it isn't, then it probably IS. Just sayin'.

“Mexico is in no danger of becoming a failed state”.....

That’s not the point, Bozo!....Mexico could simply back away from the border area and give up leaving all of it to the drug gangs. Then the U.S. would have to deal with it....Are these politicians really this stupid?

How about “Juarez Juan”? And maybe someone can Photoshop his insignia and backdrop to Mexican ones.
