If everyone connected with governments throughout the world were minutely checked, I'm sure there would be few left to govern.

Maybe the time has come for governments to be run by people who are NOT there for the money, but for the love of their country.

Lower government wages by 90 percent and let's see who's standing.

The story makes it quite clear that the Home Secretary had nothing to do with what he did. Do you advocate the people decide the spouses of statesmen?

What!? This is about as newsworthy as Bristol Palin’s boyfriend breaking up with her.

Let the man take some time off, enjoy himself, and leave him alone. Two porn videos??? So what. It’s none of my business, and I really don’t want to know about it.

I think we need to come up with a term for this kind of news.

My suggestion: “embarressment propoganda.”

I wonder if the films were from the “Rude Brittania” series. I kid you not.

He's the husband of a standing home secretary.

She might not have been there when he saw the movie, but was quite happy to trust his judgment when asking the British tax payer to foot the bill.

The VERY least she could do is resign.

Please read the whole article. The tax payer paid the bill.

Yes. What this says, of course, is that they have been charging ALL of their private expenses to the government as business expenses, and there just happened to be this one embarrassing item that had to be blamed on the husband.

Thank you.

Exactly, and so typical of government "workers".

The titles of the films would help my research. Seeing the wife’s pic helped explain a bit also.

He's the husband of a standing home secretary.

And her paid Commons advisor, who was behind a letter campaign to the newspapers in praise of her.

She might not have been there when he saw the movie, but was quite happy to trust his judgment when asking the British tax payer to foot the bill.

She put the bill on there; he added the movies.

The VERY least she could do is resign.

True, but not over this. "Jackboot Jacqui" should resign over her Bush-like anti-freedom policies.
