Threats of protest halt Pink Swastika author's scheduled talk

by Temecula Valley News staff

The Murrieta/Temecula Republican Assembly’s (MTRA) next meeting was scheduled to be April 3; however, that meeting and location are now in doubt as a result of threats of protest.

According to MTRA president Bob Kowell, their speaker was scheduled to be Pastor Scott Lively from Abiding Truth Ministries in Massachusetts. Pastor Lively’s book, “The Pink Swastika,” has gained the attention and protest of gays and gay activists across the world.

“The meeting was to be held at Temeku Hills Country Club,” said Kowell. “Temeku Country Club informed MTRA that, due to our speaker, the event could not take place there because they had received threats of demonstrations. MTRA was informed that there could be a liability issue with someone getting hurt on their way to using the public pool while passing through demonstrators.”

A message was left with Temeku Hills Country Club for comment, but as of press time there had been no response.

The Pacific Justice Institute has pledged support of MTRA’s free speech rights. According to Chief Council Kevin Snider, they will be drafting a letter to Temeku Country Club asking them to honor the contract.

Kowell says MTRA will work with the country club to secure the spot and keep people safe as well. The police would be asked to help keep demonstrators at a safe distance.

The local chapter of Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) is adamant that Lively shouldn’t be able to speak to the group at all and believes retaliation may be warranted.

Whoa! Maybe there is some truth to Lively's claim that homosexuals were prominent within Hitler's Nazi Party?

I had heard that homosexuals were active in the early years of Hitler and his rise to power through Nazism (the brown shirt SA types.)

This PFLAG group certainly acts like a bunch of brown shirts with their threats and intolerance for free speech.

Go figure...

Why would any Conservative care what some National Sociasislt wanna bees think or say about anything?

All this does is feed the false stereotype that NAZIs were somehow on the right of the political spectrum. NAZIs were, and are, half way between socislsits and communists. Hitler’s workers party, does that sound conservative?

And the people who sponsored this event let them.

To paraphrase Forrest Gump, cowardly is as cowardly does. We're not going to defeat these thugs by backing down from them every time there's a threat of confrontation.

Some background info about the Southern Poverty Law Center from Discover The Networks.org:

http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/groupProfile.asp?grpid=6989

SOUTHERN POVERTY LAW CENTER

* Monitors the activities of what it calls “hate groups” in the United States

* Exaggerates the prevalence of white racism directed against American minorities

Founded in 1971 by a pair of Alabama lawyers, Morris Dees and Joe Levin, the Montgomery-based Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) quickly built a reputation as America’s leading “civil rights law firm,” suing Southern institutions resistant to desegregation, publicizing hate crimes, and using the media to denounce the perpetrators of those crimes. At the time of SPLC’s founding, Julian Bond, who currently chairs the NAACP, was named the fledgling group’s first President.

During the 1970s and 1980s, SPLC courtroom challenges focused on such issues as reforming conditions in prisons and mental-health facilities. When Klansmen in Decatur, Alabama disrupted a May 26, 1979 civil rights gathering, SPLC filed its first civil suit against a major Klan organization. Within two years, the Center had launched its Klanwatch campaign (later renamed the Intelligence Project) “to monitor organized hate activity across the country.” In an effort to hold white supremacist leaders accountable for their followers’ actions, SPLC sued for monetary damages on behalf of victims of Klan violence, effectively bankrupting several major Klan organizations and “draw[ing] national attention to the growing threat of white supremacist activity.”

As part of the Intelligence Project, the SPLC website currently features a map of “Active U.S. Hate Groups.” Deeming racism the the nearly exclusive province of the “radical right,” Intelligence Project reports mostly ignore groups on the left. And although SPLC denounces extremist religious organizations like the Jewish Defense League and Westboro Baptist Church, no mention is made of any extremist Muslim groups. (In 2007, SPLC identified 888 separate “active hate groups” in the United States.)

In a 2003 article titled “Into the Mainstream,” featured in SPLC’s quarterly magazine Intelligence Report, author Chip Berlet asserted that “right-wing foundations and think tanks support efforts to make bigoted and discredited ideas respectable.”

According to SPLC, white bigotry aimed at racial and ethnic minorities has not diminished at all in recent decades. The Center states, for instance, “Like most of the southeastern U.S., Georgia has seen an explosion in Hispanic immigration in recent years. … As hate groups exploit the racial tension stemming from the area’s growth, locals have launched violent attacks against immigrant workers.” In May 2006, SPLC characterized the critics of pro-open borders rallies (held in several U.S. cities) as “anti-immigration extremists.”

In 1991 SPLC established a “Teaching Tolerance” educational program “to help K-12 teachers foster respect and understanding in the classroom.” One recent Teaching Tolerance campaign urged students to oppose the use of Native American mascots among sports teams by taking up a letter-writing campaign to owners and players of professional squads, high-school and middle-school principals, school board members, university trustees, university coaches, and the editor of a local newspaper.

Highlights of such campaigns are featured in SPLC’s biannual in-house publication, Teaching Tolerance magazine, which has a circulation of 600,000 educators in more than 70 countries. Noting that nearly 90 percent of K-12 teachers in the United States are white, while 36 percent of pupils “are students of color,” one recent article cited this fact as evidence of “a legacy of racial domination and injustice” in the teacher-hiring process. A corollary to the Teaching Tolerance initiative is another SPLC website, Tolerance.org. Created in 2001, this site “offers a wide variety of resources to support anti-bias activism.”

In 1992, SPLC asserted that some 346 white-supremacist organizations were operating in the United States. Even leftist journalist Alexander Cockburn accused SPLC’s Morris Dees of raising funds by “frightening elderly liberals that the heirs of Adolf Hitler are about to march down Main Street.” Ethical questions about SPLC’s tactics were also raised by Harper’s Magazine, which took issue with the organization’s wont for suing groups for the crimes commited by its indvidual members, “a practice that, however seemingly justified, should give civil libertarians pause.”

In 1996, USA Today called SPLC, with its $68 million in assets, “the nation’s richest civil rights organization.” By the end of fiscal year 2003, SPLC’s endowment totaled $120.6 million. Morris Dees raised eyebrows in the 1990s when he told an interviewer, “I learned everything I know about hustling from the Baptist Church. Spending Sundays on those hard benches listening to the preacher pitch salvation — why, it was like getting a Ph.D. in selling.”

In 1995, Alabama’s Montgomery Advertiser published a series of investigative reports that raised serious questions about SPLC’s finances. In one instance mentioned by the paper, SPLC won a celebrated $7 million settlement after suing a Ku Klux Klan organization in Alabama. The Klan was without assets and the SPLC client received very little from the suit. By contrast, SPLC directors — having garnered $9 million in donations in a two-year fundraising campaign for the trial — afforded themselves salaries of $350,000 for the trial’s duration.

A 1998 survey conducted by the nonpartisan publication National Journal showed that Morris Dees earned tens of thousands of dollars more each year than the officers of 78 other selected advocacy groups, including the heads of such prominent organizations as the ACLU, the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, and the Children’s Defense Fund. After SPLC took in more than $44 million in revenues in 1999, The Nation magazine lambasted the Center for spending nearly $6 million on fundraising activities but only $2.4 million on litigation.

Between 2001 and 2004, SPLC was the recipient of 59 foundation grants totaling $3,326,425. The donors included: the Arcus Foundation; the Baltimore Community Foundation; the Cisco Systems Foundation; the Cleveland Foundation, the Naomi and Nehemiah Cohen Foundation; the Columbus Foundation and Affiliated Organizations; the Community Foundation for Southeastern Michigan; the Community Foundation for the National Capital Region; Community Foundation (Silicon Valley); the Cushman Family Foundation; the Dibner Fund; the Joseph and Bessie Feinberg Foundation; the Ford Foundation; the Edward and Verna Gerbic Family Foundation; the Jackson and Irene Golden 1989 Charitable Trust; the Lisa and Douglas Goldman Fund; the Grove Foundation; the J.M. Kaplan Fund; the J.P Morgan Chase Foundation; the Kaplen Foundation; the Open Society Institute; the Albert Parvin Foundation; the Picower Foundation; the Jay Pritzker Foundation; the Louis and Harold Price Foundation; the Public Welfare Foundation; the Raine and Stanley Silverstein Family Foundation; the Spiegel Foundation; the State Street Foundation; the Steinberg Charitable Trust; and the Vanguard Public Foundation.

The Pink Swastika is a most interesting book. It details the strong undercurrent of homosexuality in the Nazi party. It's easy to see why the Nazis were such vicious sadists.

Incidentally, homosexuality was illegal in Germany before the Nazis took over. The Nazis changed the wording of the law so that people who weren't even homosexual could be charged with it and jailed.

Then counter-retaliation would be fully warranted.

In 1972, Jeanne Manford started an international movement when she marched with her son Mortie in New York’s Gay Pride Parade.

in the 1980’s, PFLAG became involved in opposing Anita Bryant’s anti-gay crusade and worked to end the U.S. military’s efforts to discharge lesbians—more than a decade before military issues came to the forefront of the GLBT movement. And by the late 1980’s, PFLAG began to have notable success in organizing chapters in rural and Bible Belt states like Nebraska, Minnesota and the Dakotas.

In 1990, following a period of significant growth, PFLAG employed an Executive Director, expanded its staff, and consolidated operations in Washington, D.C. Also in 1990, PFLAG President Paulette Goodman sent a letter to Barbara Bush asking for Mrs. Bush’s support. The first lady’s personal replied, stating, “I firmly believe that we cannot tolerate discrimination against any individuals or groups in our country. Such treatment always brings with in pain and perpetuates intolerance.” Inadvertently given to the Associated Press, her comments caused a political maelstrom and were perhaps the first gay-positive comments ever to come out of the White House.

Morty Manford died of AIDS

Morty Manford was a lifelong New Yorker, born September 17, 1950 in Flushing, Queens, where his mother was an elementary school teacher and his father a dentist.

In June 1972 Jeanne Manford marched alongside her son in the Christopher Street Liberation Day parade, carrying a sign that read “Parents of Gays: Unite in Support of Our Children.”

direction in the glbtq rights movement, with an emphasis on “the idea of gay respectability . . . an antiactivist type of gay theology.”

After completing his degree at Columbia, Manford attended the Cardozo Law School at Yeshiva University. Upon graduation, he spent four years with the Legal Aid Society of New York representing indigent defendants before receiving an appointment as an assistant state attorney general in 1986.

When he was diagnosed with AIDS, Manford returned to the home of his mother, a widow since 1982, and died there on May 14, 1992.

I read The Pink Swastika years ago. Great book. Very well documented and an eye-opener.

We're living an Orwellian nighmere on so many levels. This kind of nazism of intimidation limiting free speech and the free flow of ideas is the worst kind of totalitarianism, yet it is just accepted by the average person. I was in college in the 70's. We were reading and discussing works like 1984, Animal Farm, Brave New World, Future Shock, etc. etc. The standards. My kids, who are in college now, would know nothing of these books if I hadn't introduced them to them. They're not even refered to in any of their college courses. The reason college professors don't use them anymore is because they ARE the regimes Orwell and Toffler warned society about.

Irony is that the Nazis gassed homos too. Double irony is that many of the Nazi high command were closet homos themselves. Tyranny knows no shame of hypocrisy, and the current crop of tyrants on this left are no exception.

I'd like to manufacture some of those flags and send them with "plants" to the next demonstration right before Prop 8 is upheld. It would drive them absolutely insane with rage. In fact, I'll volunteer to do it - I'm a rather large, intimidating guy. But I'll need a partner with a camcorder - for prosecutory evidence.

How dare they disparage the U.S. Flag with that perverted rainbow version!

10. Pastor Scott Lively, J.D., Th. D. says:

The Price of Free Speech in the Era of “Gay” Power

Last night I learned that one of my upcoming lectures on homosexuality and the “gay” movement may be forced into an alternate venue due to the belief by the original forum’s management that I am a “hate group.” I’m not sure who’s responsible for telling them this, but I suspect it was the Southern Poverty Law Center (the once venerable civil rights champion turned Christian-basher). It might have been the same SPLC staffer who called Mike Spence of the California Republican Assembly yesterday to pressure him to cancel my event, which is being hosted by the CRA’s Temecula, CA chapter. Reportedly, Mr. Spence was told that, among other things that qualify me as a hater, I advocate the lifetime imprisonment of homosexuals.

I do not now, nor have I ever advocated imprisonment of homosexuals. Nor do I, as they suggest on their website, endorse or condone the murder of homosexuals.

The SPLC and its co-conspirators intend that I, upon hearing these outrageous accusations, will rush to prove that I am not a hater, and in the process, compromise all or part of my beliefs and values. That’s what most others have done when faced with far less vicious lies, which is why you can’t find more than a handful of public officials anywhere in the nation willing to affirm the self-evident truth that homosexuality is morally wrong and biologically disordered.
They’ve all fallen back to the least vulnerable position and last line of defense of family: the definition of marriage.

It is my tenacious loyalty to the truth and gift of being able to articulate it compellingly that makes the “gays” and their SPLC attack dog hate me, and tell such lies about me. It started years ago with more run-of-the-mill falsehoods, and eventually graduated to the current whoppers. I refuse to be intimidated.

If you stop and think about it, can you name any single person in America who openly disapproves of homosexuality who is not called a hater? Or what Barney Frank called Justice Antonin Scalia recently — a “homophobe?” That is indeed the purpose of this nonsense word “homophobia:” to define ALL disagreement with the “gay” agenda as irrational hate. A phobia is an anxiety disorder, a form of mental illness, yet the term as they use it applies to everyone who, for any reason, dares to oppose the social legitimization of homosexuality.

“Homophobia” is not a scientific term, but a deviously crafted instrument of psychological manipulation. And its use by the “gay” activists and their allies reveals just how underhanded they are willing to be in the pursuit of their selfish goals. Note that I’m talking about the activists, not people who genuinely want to be left alone to their privacy — They don’t bother me and I don’t bother them.

The “gay” activists, however, lie about everything. “We’re born that way?” There’s not been one definitive study proving that theory in fifty years of effort, so why do so many people believe it’s been scientifically established? Relentless lying. “We have no agenda?” Has there ever been a more politically aggressive and organized special interest group? — all the while denying that they even have an agenda? “We just want tolerance?” Yet, far past tolerance and even celebration of “gay” culture in many places, the now politically powerful homosexual movement demands the censorship and punishment of their detractors. Is that proof of an honest commitment to “tolerance” as an ideal, or the cynical manipulation of public sympathy to gain political advantage?

So, by definition, to be a pro-family leader in this new era of “tolerance is to be a constant target of misrepresentation and outright falsehoods designed to poison the well against you so that average people will be reluctant to listen to what you have to say. Who are the real victims here?

Case in point. Why do they say I endorse the murder of homosexuals? This lie has now spread all over the Internet. It started when I came to the rescue of the Russian speaking community of Sacramento when it was being smeared with racist propaganda by the Sacramento Bee newspaper. There had been a fight between a group of Russians and a group of Fijians in a public park in Sacramento. According to reports from the trial, one Fijian man had been “dirty dancing” with other men and the Russians asked them in vain not to do this in front of their children. In the fight that ensued, a Russian man punched the Fijian man once. The man fell, hit his head on a rock, and died that night in the hospital of a brain injury. It was certainly a lamentable tragedy, but an obviously unintended death if not just a freak accident.

However, the Bee and the “gay” activists characterized it as deliberate murder. Worse, they blamed the entire local Russian community of creating this “hate crime” by having been politically active in the preceding months by rallying in large numbers when “gay” issues came before the California legislature which is headquartered in that city. Guilt by association when the association is a common ethnicity is racism. And skewing facts to serve the “gay” political agenda, especially by a trusted organ of the media, is lying by misrepresentation.

In defense of the thousands of innocent Russian immigrants of Sacramento, I therefore made public statements accusing the Bee of racism and misrepresentation. The “gays” and the SPLC then mischaracterized my comments as endorsement of murder. And they continue to do so, even after the trial of the only man arrested in the matter (not the puncher, who apparently fled the country). In the trial the jury deadlocked on the question of whether the incident was even a hate crime, let alone a murder, causing the case to end in a mistrial. The “gays” then embellished the tale, stating falsely that the Russian man was a member of a church I was affiliated with in Sacramento. Not only was that not true, but I never met the man, nor ever gave any hint of approving of or condoning what he did. I was in fact very clear that I was personally grieved by what had occurred. They are liars.

The next year, 2007, I was on a lecture tour of the former Soviet Union, speaking in universities, churches and conferences in about fifty cities through eight countries. At a conference in Novosibirsk (New Siberia) I was relating the story of what had occurred in Sacramento when a small group of 10-12 Russian nationalists (a genuine hate group in a crowd of about 1200 Christians — it was open to the public) cheered when I said the Fijian man died. I stopped my speech, rebuked them, and then spent the remainder of my time explaining why we should “love the sinner, hate the sin.” However, there was a “gay” activist in the conference who filmed the event, and the next day posted it on YouTube — except this person edited it so the clip ended with the boors applauding, deliberately misrepresenting the incident. They “lied” by omission, solely to harm me. Thankfully, the conference organizers later published the entire speech on YouTube.

Why do they claim I advocate the imprisonment of homosexuals? That was the story they invented while I was in Uganda earlier this month for a week of lectures, sermons and media appearances in the capital city of Kampala. While there I also addressed a group of members of the Ugandan Parliament in their assembly hall. My purpose was to call for a liberalization of the Ugandan law against homosexuality by shifting the emphasis away from punishment and toward rehabilitation. I analogized it to the example of my own life, citing my choice of optional therapy for alcoholism after being arrested for drunk driving years ago (during which time of therapy I became a Christian and was
completely healed of drug and alcohol addiction). I was accompanied at Parliament by an African-American former homosexual man who addressed the issue of reparative therapy and how it had helped him overcome same-sex attraction.

The first reports from Kampala by the “gays” accused me of calling for forced treatment of homosexuals (not true) and later the story was amended to add that I advocated the imprisonment of homosexuals (another lie).

For the record, I approach the homosexual issue first as a Christian theologian, meaning that I assume the Bible is true and a provably superior guide to human behavior to all competing worldviews if the underlying biblical principles relating to any given issue are correctly construed. Secondly, I approach the issue as an attorney which makes me a respecter of empirical evidence, which I attempt to analyze as logical secular thinkers such as Aristotle might. Both approaches reach similar conclusions about homosexuality: that it is, as Pope John Paul said (and Aristotle would affirm), “objectively disordered.” In other words, the male/female duality of the human design is self-evident, and deviation from the design is predictably problematic for both individuals and society. (By the way, I am not a Catholic.)

From this premise, I conclude that public policy should actively discourage all sex outside of marriage, not just homosexuality, but that any such policy should be no more intrusive on personal freedom than is necessary for the preservation of a genuinely family-centered society. Where that might, for various reasons in some cultures, include the criminalization of non-marital sexual relationships (as
was true in America prior to Kinsey), it should never involve imprisonment in my opinion. Instead, like laws against littering and excess noise, these policies should serve to deter anti-social conduct in as light-handed a manner as possible. That is what I believe and what I teach. If you watch carefully you will see the “gay” activists and the pro-homosexual media twist even this. So be it.

There are many other misrepresentations about me circulating on the Internet, and other examples I could relate of dirty tricks done to me over the past twenty years that would outrage any fair-minded person, but space is limited, and I think I‘ve made my point. But generally speaking, I’m a pretty nice guy with my own share of life challenges like anybody else. What makes me different from most people is that I know a lot about the “gay” agenda and why it should be opposed by society, and that knowledge makes me responsible to speak out no matter how much I get lied about for doing so.

Meanwhile, I have genuine sympathy for homosexuals, whom I believe are already imprisoned. Not in physical jails, but in the mutual self-delusion they share and continually reinforce among themselves that their attraction to persons of the same gender is unconquerable. They are imprisoned by the lies they tell themselves. I don’t want them to be imprisoned. My prayer is that they will be freed, to enjoy the sublime blessing of sexuality in faithful, life-long marriage, as was intended by the one who made us male and female by design.

Many of the leaders of Nazi Storm Troop gangs were homosexuals. Eyewitness survivors of Nazi horror camps, such as Elie Wiesel, also confirmed that a large percentage of horror camp guards were homosexual as well. Both of these facts were widely known and commented upon in the years immediately following the war (e.g. William Shirer’s “Rise and Fall of the Third Reich” and Elie Wiesel’s “Night”). Now that certain segments of society have decided that sodomy is a fundamental civil right worthy of special status, many liberals have very incorrectly turned these facts upside down by insisting that homosexuals were singled out like Jews for abuse and extermination.

a word they truly do not understand but one thing is for sure the more they act this way the more the average Joe will get more pissed of with their disgusting sick perverted lifestyle and bullying.

I’d love to see one homo try to shut me up just one or do they go only after older smaller lone people?

though when they have their freak parades putting those stickers around on their tents would raise quite a few eyebrows for them.

sick folk would probably think it was good anyway

If you read The Pink Swastika, you will see that homosexuals were not gassed. A small number - IIRC between 5 and 15 thousand were in camps, and many of those were not even homosexuals but political arrests made under the bogus charge of homosexuality. Homosexuals were never targeted for mass arrest, starvation, work camps or death. Ever.

Many homosexuals are neither sissies or effeminate. They are much prone to violence, aggression, rage, and irrational crimes. Their perverse desires and acts push them into realms of disgusting violence and hatred that normal people cannot imaginge. Homsoexuality was intertwined with the beginning of Nazism and its philosophy, as well as the ranks of Nazis.

Either way the left are hypocrites by their actions of persecution, while claiming to be the victims.

are they not also the group that is responsible for the GLSN group which has the homosexual clubs in schools called GSA’s. They are “clubs” where a public school’s students, usually mentored by a homosexual who is a teacher there, are encouraged to engage is experimental sex.

How You Can Help Stop PFLAG & GLSEN!

Want to help stop the two major groups promoting homosexuality, bisexuality and cross-dressing to even elementary school children?

Then learn more about PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) and GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network).

An article covering some important news about both organizations is below on this page. After reading this material, you may be stunned just as we were— especially when you realize that these two groups are being given the open door policy in many schools and churches in America!

remember this?

http://www.forthechildreninc.com/issues/homosexuality/TheAgenda/MAsituation.html

On March 25, 2000 the Massachusetts Departments of Education and Health teamed up with the national gay and lesbian group GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network) and conducted a conference for school children and educators. The conference was held under the guise of tolerance and safe schools. However, as the Parent’s Rights Coalition discovered, this conference was about teaching children the unsafe mechanics of homosexuality. Following the conference, organizers denied claims of misconduct made by the Parent’s Rights Coalition. Organizers were forced to concede the truth after the Parent’s Rights Coalition made public an audio recording from the conference, which substantiated their claims. A free copy of the Parent’s Rights Coalition audio tape can be obtained from the Massachusetts News web page. Alternatively, if your computer is audio capable, then you may listen to the following 10 audio clips, in order, to hear the entire contents of the free audio tape.

Exactly. They like to claim victim status under the Nazis but it’s contrary to the real facts.

The sad parallel is that the socialists now in power now and the groups aligned with them are moving toward the brutal oppressive Nazi like regime that they accuse conservatism of trying to establish.

People thought Bush was taking away civil liberties. Even if one disagrees with it, there were legitimate reasons for the patriot act. Obama fired the CEO of GM today. Where on earth does the president get the power to use my/our money to blackmail a private company into removing its CEO?

We are indeed slouching toward Gomorrah.

absolutely abominable! Why aren't the perpetrators of this child porn arrested? Unbelievable.

If someone tried to push off this "literature" on my child, I would force the perpetrator to eat it. If I had to shove it down his/her throat with my heel, I would.

I don’t know why parents put up with stuff like this!

Unless they don’t know about it but they should make an effort to find out what their child is being taught!
