WaPo Blog Poster: 'Way To Be More Retarded Than Palin's Down Syndrome Baby'
NewsBusters ^ | March 29, 2009 | Michael M. Bates

Barack Obama promised to elevate the level of political discourse. Some of his apparent admirers didn't get the memo.

Take, for example, this user comment on the Washington Post's 44: The Obama Presidency blog today:

Considering how many people donated small amounts to his campaign, I imagine it would be difficult to find people who couldn't be considered "backers" in some way. I mean one of these guys donated a whopping $250. Yay Matt Drudge! Yay Rush Limbaugh! Way to be more retarded than Palin's down syndrome baby.

The poster was responding to the blog item "Obama Town Hall Questioners Were Campaign Backers." That piece documented that at Obama's town hall meeting, his staff stacked the deck with the president's partisans.

Introducing Gov. Sarah Palin's special-needs child into the discussion shows how low Obamatons can go in defending their hero. I don't know if the Washington Post's blogs are moderated. I do know, however, that the newspaper maintains User Discussion and Submission Guidelines. The very first section states in part:

You agree not to submit inappropriate content. Inappropriate content includes any content that: . . .degrades others on the basis of gender, race, class, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual preference, disability, or other classification

Here's a screen shot of the comment. On the Internet, things sometimes have a way of getting scrubbed. (At Link)

If the Washington Post doesn't moderate its blogs, it might want to give serious consideration to doing so. In this Golden Age of Obama, his backers obviously feel free to coarsely express their opinions no matter how despicable.

Obama said he bowls like the “Special Olympics”. They will go as low as it takes. Republicans on the other hand seem to be unwilling to attack even when it is truthful and warranted.

The reason is to remind us against who we fight.

Read about what their heroes did in the Spanish civil war and you will have some concept of how low they can go.

Its really LOW, but its just an isolated poster out on the internet.

We all know the libs really think this stuff, but most are smart enough to not say it.

I do not believe there is a bottom. Just a long, slow, steady, spiraling descent.

When I see comments like that it really shows me that the reason why leftist love abortion really requires no explaination. Simply put, they are the party of death.

Thanks for the post.

Freepers should print these and save hard copies of this crap in a notebook when arguing with their democrat aquaintances or family members.

I like to show these examples when my lib neighbor says that conservatives are hate-mongers.

I agree. When I see comments like that, it makes my blood boil. Trig is a beautiful baby boy, who will grow up to become a wonderful adult, and these bastards have nothing better to do then smear this innocent child. I don’t know if they mean what they say or they just say it for shock value, either way, its disgusting and I am at a loss for words. I will be damned if I allow these animals to run our country into the ground

One of my kids has autism and they are far from retarded.

The comment sez more about the poster than Palin’s child

Got this email this evening.
Red Envelope

Get red envelopes or postcards mail them on March 31st to the White House.

When:
March 31st, 2009

Get a red envelope. You can buy them at Kinkos, or at party supply stores. Or, you can make one out of red construction paper. On the front, address it to:

President Barack Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW
Washington , D.C. 20500

On the back, write the following message.

This envelope represents one child who died because of an abortion.
It is empty because the life that was taken is now unable to be a part of our world.

We will mail the envelopes out March 31st, 2009..

Put it in the mail, and send it. Then forward this event to every one of your friends who you think would send one too. I wish we could send 50 million red envelopes, one for every child who died [in the U.S. ] before having a chance to live.

It may seem that those who believe abortion is wrong are in a minority. It may seem like we have no voice and it’s shameful to even bring it up. Let us show our President and the world that the voices of those of us who do not believe abortion is acceptable are not silent and must be heard.

Together we can change the heart of The President and save the lives of millions of children.

Thank you.

An empty red envelope will send a message to President Barack Obama that there is moral outrage in this country over this issue [The Freedom of Choice Act, which will essentially “undo” every law currently in place to limit abortion in the U.S. (i.e., parental consent laws, parental notification, waiting periods, prohibition of transporting a minor girl across state lines to obtain an abortion, etc.)]. It will be quiet, but clear.
