American Right to Life: The Ann Coulter Hang Ups

Ann Coulter bushwacked on radio by conservative Christian abortion foes

By WENDY NORRIS 3/30/09 9:08 AM

Ultra-conservative Christian talk-radio hosts are taking a new approach to get their message out — ambushing right-wing pundit Ann Coulter for supporting 2008 GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Absolutist anti-abortion activists accuse Romney of being “willing to sacrifice children for your vote.”

The Denver-based American Right to Life Action (RTL) leads the charge against Coulter with a YouTube video that shows excerpts of Coulter’s on-air radio freak-outs and calls on the acid-tongued author to apologize and retract her support for Romney.

Really, who cares what the daughter of a former candidate thinks? Do you know of a single person who will cast a vote based on the opinion of a former candidates child?

We simply cannot let a single issue - even one as important as abortion - divide us.

Most of us have been asked to ignore core principles since Reagan left office. It hasn't worked.

Why would you suggest we continue to do that which has not worked?

I don't think we'll have a problem with that the next time around.

We will if the RNC tries to do an end around and gets another John McCain nominated, which I have every expectation they will try to do. Judging from what is being put forth by Michael Steel.

Only if you believe we will not be hit by terrorists within the next four years. IMO, A terrorist attack here in the US will end the Democrat reign for decades.

The lesser of 2 evils is still evil.

What else can you call a governor that put $50 co-pay
elective abortions into law?

>> Coulter was a Duncan Hunter supporter, then supported people in descending order according to their ability to defeat Obama. <<

Bull. Coulter was never a "Hunter supporter", she merely praised him as a great conservative Congressman but did not think he was a viable Presidential candidate (the position of most of us took on FR). She WAS a committed Romney supporter, and endorsed Romney over EVERYONE ELSE who was a "major contender" for the nomination at the time, including bashing Fred Thompson and calling him a RINO, and that was before his campaign tanked. (As opposed to the freepers claiming she only backed Romney at the end to "stop McLame") She also indicated her second choice was Giuliani, and wrote an op-ed claiming Romney and Giuliani were better because they were "more conservative" than the region that elected them or something, whereas the other candidates were "less conservative" than the region that elected them.

The jury was out during the 2008 primaries of whether Romney had truly had a change of heart over abortion or whether he was just pandering to get votes, but now we have an answer. Romney is actively working to get the ultra pro-abortion Meg Whitman elected Governor of California. So much for his "pro-life conversion".

Coulter also laughably claimed both Hilderbeast and Hussein Obama would be "better" than a McCain presidency and argued that Hilderbeast (ACU rating 8%) was "more conservative" than McCain (ACU rating 82%) (I think she might be one of those conservatives who argued that abortion policy "wouldn't change" regardless of who is President, another claim that's been proven indisputably wrong as Obama has been working round the clock to overturn Bush era executive orders, issue his own executive orders promoting abortion on demand, and mandating federal funding for all kinds of abortion)

>> The one issue people will see their causes wither and die if they are successful in fragmenting the Republican party. They are defeating themselves. <<

Coulter's been wrong on far more than one issue (Remember saying Jews "need to be perfected" and made to convert to Christianity, and her claims that John Roberts would be "another Souter?), and it's about time she gets called out for it. She has no problem relentlessly smearing and crucifying other conservatives for allegedly supporting liberals, now the shoe is on the other foot.

Bottom line is that Coulter backed a RINO in the primary, and said if she didn't get her way in the primary she'd campaign for the socialist Democrat over the Republican ticket (but didn't have the guts to follow through with that).

I can't think of a single thing Coulter has done during her career that's directly advanced conservatism in America, but I can think of several times that she opened her mouth and it helped liberals get ahead. In other words, she damaging the very 'causes' she claims to be promoting. She's simply the Republican version of Michael Moore, and needs to be called out as such.

I really don’t want us to be attacked but if it happens it would be at his feet. If some of the attackers were recent Gitmo detainees it would really sink him.

Republicans should stop attacking Republicans, and I don’t mean obvious RINOs. Conservative ministers should be educating their congregations on the virtues of following Christ. They should also educate their congregations about the evils of this world, like liberalism. The term ultra-conservative is idiotic babbling that should be left to the liberal mush-heads.

Sorry BillyBoy you're wrong!

COULTER: "Actually, my favorite candidate is [Rep.] Duncan Hunter [R-CA], and he is magnificent. The problem is most people say, "Who's Duncan Hunter?" He's a genuine war hero. He has one son, I think, in Iraq, one in Afghanistan. He is good on every single issue. He has been out front on building a wall. He did build a wall at San Diego. He's very good on -- on the life issue. He's good on everything."

“The lesser of 2 evils is still evil.”

True, but there are different degrees of what we call evil. Obama is the devil’s puppet.

I guess “who cares” are the 11,000 idiots who follow her on the equally idiotic Twitter thingy and the others who haven’t the critical thinking skills to understand that she’s a total airhead.

Think about it: Who would have thought a few years ago that a flaming Marxistm with NO administrative experience would be sitting in the Oval Office?

Looks as though the 100+ year process of the government school dumbing down of the American population has paid off for the One World utopians — BIG TIME!

If/when it happens he will take the Democrat party down with him.

Whose puppet is a man who promoted killing pre-born babies
for a $50 co-pay (Romney Care) and implemented gay marriage in Massachusetts?

I don’t know why we are getting so worked up with Romney, I really don’t see him as viable. I’m more worried about Huckabee. I don’t think any higher of him but he is getting a lot of play with his TV show and all.

I concur, it's called liberalism.

Hey, at least we're not hearing about Britney Spears anymore.

We simply cannot let a single issue - even one as important as abortion - divide us.

So you're fine with winning elections at the expense of the very LIVES of millions of innocents?

The support of murder tells me more about the true nature of an individual than anything else. Why should I care that "Bob" supports smaller gov't if "Bob" is okay with the most innocent and vulnerable amongst us suffering horrific, gruesome deaths?

I will NEVER knowingly support murder. The Right to Life is the most fundamental of all rights. Without it we have nothing else.

We need to be a big tent or we don't have any chance at all.

The "Big Tent" concept has gotten us exactly where we are today. The Big Tent is the problem, not the solution. That concept has allowed anyone, regardless of voting record, who felt it more politically expedient to attach an R rather than a D to his or her name, into this party. They have destroyed it from within. Letting more of them in won't fix it!

Obama: Usurping the office of POTUS.

Romney: Willing to sacrifice children for your vote.
