Senator: Expect painful cuts in Pentagon budget (Carl Levin)

WASHINGTON (AP) - A Senate defense committee chairman says Pentagon budget will include large, painful cuts. Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin said Tuesday that major program cuts will not be pushed off until the 2011 budget, but will be included when Defense Secretary Robert Gates sends his spending plan to the president later this month.

All too predictable. Obama and Dems claim to support the troops, but undermine them by cutting their budget. Classic Statist policies.

God bless our brave military. They deserve better than the current elected government.

Here's the problem as I see it. The US cannot afford to be the dominant superpower while running up deficits and having entitlement programs. Something has to give. After years of fiscal mismanagement and expanding government we simply cannot do what we have become accustomed to.

Given this, Obama’s recent attacks on Veteran’s healthcare, elimination of don’t ask don’t tell and the mass withdrawal, i.e. surrender, from Iraq I expect a mass exodus from the military.

Cuts in the military budget are the LAST thing we need right now!

Obama only cares about destroying our nation’s heritage and foundations, and then remolding us into his socialist “paradise.”

He doesn’t care that Iran is going nuclear and is threatening Israel.
He doesn’t care that North Korea is going/has gone nuclear and is threatening Japan and the United States.
He doesn’t care that Russia is placing bombers in Cuba and Venezuela.
