I hope he keeps it up. Congress has always had an uneasy relationship with the Executive, and right now they’re getting along too well. A little bad blood like Clinton had with the Democrats in Congress would be nice.

Sounds like there are a few Democrats who could use and deserve a thanks for their votes on the stimulus. [Did my hands really type those words?] Divide and conquer, you now.

He has to spend this energy on dims, while the weaklings in the GOP aren't smart and strong enough to turn up the heat on the right.
Where is the GOP leadership? Obama and the dims are on the ropes...it just hasn't crystallized in the minds of the greater electorate yet.
The train is now moving in OUR direction.

Where is the GOP leadership? The official Republican Party stance is not to criticize Obama in any way, shape, or form.
No, I'm not making this up.

I think it would be wise to immediately start recalls on every Congressman and Senator in moderate Districts and States. Just think of it. In moderate or right-leaning areas/states, Dems voting for Zero's budget are sitting ducks. Better to get rid of them before 2010. Start the revolution now!

“Americans United is going after Democrats who are skeptical of Mr. Obama’s plans to double the national debt in five years and nearly triple it in 10. The White House is taking aim at lawmakers in 12 states, including Democratic Sens. Kent Conrad, Ben Nelson, Mary Landrieu, Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor.”
Hmmmmmm could be this will backfire on the WH. Seems to me the reason these targeted Dems would be skeptical is their constituency is. These people want to be reelected.
Bring on the Robo-calls to those constituents Americans United.

Talk about urinating in your own Wheaties. Pete DeFazio is one of the most liberal dudes in Congress and is relatively senior. I don’t know what his motivations were for voting against the stimulus, but DeFazio will definitely be in the TOTUS’ column for the vast majority of votes.

DeFazio represents Eugene, one of the most screaming left wing bastions on the west coast. In 1985 they declared themselves a nuclear free zone. They also blocked the placement of a Emergency Broadcasting System antenna site because they didn't want to be part of Reagan's post-apocalyptic world.

DeFazio voted no since he didn’t think it went far enough. Amazing.
