Folks got on to President Bush for the hand holding picture with the Saudi King, not understanding that this was a cultural sign of equals, like brothers. I’m sure the same media that mocked president Bush for his sign of equality with world leaders will not give Bambi an iota of criticism for his sign of subservience to the king.

Never did understand why people criticized GWB for holding the king’s hand. The man was past 80, it’s only human to offer a hand or an arm to someone who could be seriously injured by a single misstep, and more likely than a young person to make one.
Not to mention how common it is for people his age to have arthritis or other ailments that affect their getting-about.
Bowing is quite another matter. Hopefully 0bama is only vomiting or something else involuntary, but I wouldn’t put it past him to show undue respect.
I just pray that someone gets a video of this on Youtube. Pass this on to everyone you know. Was there ever any doubt that it was no slip when he spoke of “my Muslim religion?”

Well...upon reading that idiot michelle grabbed the Queen of England around the waist and barry is out there falling all over himself to show how fawning he is to other world leaders...it finally hit me.
This is a case of two chosen highschool kids who each wrote a 50 word "essay" on why they want to be "governor for a day" (yes, of course they each cheated and took most if not all of their text from the internet). So...barry and michelle won the contest and were appointed as "governor for a day".
Then the dream becomes reality when we all realized that it wasn't "governor for a day", but president of the US, and that it wasn't for a day...but for four long years!!
These two idiots would be absolutely hillarious if it were not for the fact that they are bumblingly, ineptly, incompentently, stupidly, and wastefully ruining this country!
Somebody, please, send these two children back to highschool where they belong!

Exactly. Clearly everyone here seems to understand the "wrongness" of this, but can't see this in historic context. Ironically, anti-Monarchism is the root of America's sympathy for calls to soak the rich, for Populism.
An American President to bow to any monarch is akin to burning a flag.
At the opening ceremonies to the Berlin Olympic Games in 1936 the American team refused to follow the protocol of dipping the U.S. Flag as they passed in review by Adolf Hitler. Instead, they brought a disapproving frown from the Chancellor by merely removing their straw hats. There was a lot of frantic discussion about what American should do, since each had been raised to understand such basic protocol. When told what was expected, and what every national team was going to do, the team was in a real quandary.
Dipping the flag below that of any other, let alone allowing it to drag the ground, just was not an option.
A few decades ago this would have resulted in the sacking of the White House and an impeachment, and in short order.
The anti-monarchism in the Constitution is clear and deep and basic. The President's "no-big deal" gesture, in bowing to a foreign monarch, shows his ass to his real king - the American People. You can do one or the other but not both.
At least they are not holding hands.

No American bows down to foriegn monarchs: we are born free and are their equals, by God. BO doesn't understand this. I wonder whose passport he's traveling under.
