Obama: World Now More Complicated

LONDON (AP) - President Barack Obama says the world is a lot more complicated than it was in 1944. That's when the countries that were victorious in World War II met to establish the financial architecture for the postwar era. Obama says negotiating is easy if it's just Franklin Roosevelt and Winston Churchill in a room, talking over brandy. But he says that's not the world we live in now. Obama spoke at a news conference Thursday after a meeting in London of the world's 20 largest and developing economies. The countries were meeting to address the worst economic crisis since World War II.

“The world is more complicated”: A rationalization for giving away the store.

Well apparently he thinks he's the guy who can handle it. What a narcissist, even Colbert was making fun of Obama’s narcissism this week.

He’s not about giving away the store just to have goodies. His agenda is to bring about chaos and destruction in the world.

What a moron. Stalin was in the room with Roosevelt and Churchill. Has Obama read history? He he really this simple?

Rubes always think their life is more complicated then their predecessors.

That is one of those DUH! comments. So Mr. Genius ZERO thinks the world is more complicated then it was in 1944 — what a profound statement. (sarcasm)

That is one of the dumbest comments I have seen with all the changes in technology. Not one person alive today should have to be reminded how much the world has changed since 1944 when the US has changed profoundly since ZERO took the oath of office a little over two months ago. Whoever branded him smart needs a new definition for the word smart or claimed he is an orator like we have never seen. He may go down as the worst speaker without a teleprompter or now with his buddyt the teleprompter that we have had as President.

Should write an URGENT email telling everyone the world is more complicated since 1944. They would think I was NUTS!

From his worldview,

the world being “more complicated” means that we can’t use the systems we used to use (free markets) in order to prosper.

A more complex world requires “someone in charge” to direct it.

So too, all the presidents from Truman to GW Bush didn’t know how to handle their era? Now all of a sudden here comes Zero to explain to us this “new complicated world”???

“I think it an object of great importance... to simplify our system of finance and bring it within the comprehension of every member of Congress.” —Thomas Jefferson to Albert Gallatin, 1802.

“The accounts of the United States ought to be and may be made as simple as those of a common farmer and capable of being understood by common farmers.” —Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, 1796.

“We might hope to see the finances of the Union as clear and intelligible as a merchant’s books, so that every member of Congress and every man of any mind in the Union should be able to comprehend them, to investigate abuses, and consequently to control them. Our predecessors have endeavored by intricacies of system and shuffling the investigation over from one office to another, to cover everything from detection. I hope we shall go in the contrary direction, and that, by our honest and judicious reformation, we may be able... to bring things back to that simple and intelligible system on which they should have been organized at first.” —Thomas Jefferson to Albert Gallatin, 1802.

President Barack Obama says the world is a lot more complicated than it was in 1944.

It's more complicated for Obama because he hasn't a clue as to what he is doing!

"World Now More Complicated"

No, not really. Some of the complications have changed or evolved but man has been the same for the last ten thousand years or so. Every generation is faced with new challenges and feels that they are singles out but the basic human condition remains the same. Technological progress may bring us a higher standard of living but the perception of that standard is generationally subjective.

“The world is more complicated”

Yes, and Obama is one big gray area.

Simple vs. complicated!
1944 vs. 2009!

The point is we don’t take our history lessons, explanations regarding the world situation from any usurper that comes along!
stfu!

Ah, you’ve taken a shaving off of the worldview dichotomy there...

Leftists believe that they are smarter than any generation that ever lived because, well, they are born when there is more information available to the individual, ie, themselves.

They believe that man is evolved and evolving, and therefore more advanced than his ancestors; more moral and intellectually powerful. They believe man is perfectible, and that some are more perfect than others and should be put into power to impose their superior vision on the rest of us.

What people learn from history is that people don’t learn from history. (being precautionary, that is)
However, we recognize the fact that Obama and his fellow travelers seem to want another stab at a ‘controlled economy’. Didn’t work then, won’t work now.
This time we’re more informed and better prepared!

Spot on. It's not that we know more than our ancestors. We just know different things.
