But by all means, play on.
Instead of letting Stevens back in, lets indict the other 99.
Creating evidence, withholding evidence, false testimony, disappearing witnesses that favored defense, bribed FBI agents... and more.
What more do you need to demonstrate innocence?
As to Palin, good for her. I just wish she and McCain hadn't thrown him under the bus by demanding his resignation in the middle of the reelection campaign. He only lost by 1% of the vote -- there never needed to be a Sen. Begich.
No, it won’t succeed, but that’s not the point...it taints Begich and puts him on the hot seat politically.
It should succeed, and he almost certainly would win re-election after this has been fully aired.
As for 'inocent,' that's a moral term, "not guilty" is what prevails.
It’s not as if this proves Stephens was innocent.
He will have a clean slate but what it does show is the incompetence of the prosecutors, etc and I’d bet they had plenty of material to work with and wouldn’t have needed to go beyond the legal guidelines to have made a very interesting trial. Too bad for we need to bring this stuff to light and let the system work as it should, either guilty or not guilty.
