I am deeply ashamed of my alma mater and can only hope that you will yet be persuaded of the wrongness of this decision.Notre Dame has announced where it stands on this: with the Power, not with the Church.

Much like the protection of child molesting priests, the only thing the church leaders understand is money. Hit ‘em in the pocketbook.

This is truly a strong and powerful, well-written letter. It is impressive, and if it does not provoke a change in heart at Notre Dame, nothing will.

If Notre Dame proceeds regardless, I suggest that the Pope put the university up for sale to the Scientologists: for the University’s traditions will obviously mean nothing and as an institution it will do more harm than good to the Holy Church.

Sell it and start again. Knute Rockne will understand and approve.

The question now is when will the Pope denounce Fr. Jenkins decision?

If Obama was a decent man instead of a narcassistic arrogant AH he would make his excuses and bow out of this engagement. But we know him for what he is. He’s made no secret of the kind of man he is, and i use the term “man” lightly. He will show up just because it will cause division among people. He enjoys putting misery on people.

The power is with the donors. Maybe abunch of high value donors should announce they are canceling all future pledges to Notre Dame.
