Kim Moroney called then-U.S. Sen. Larry Craig's staffers. They promised to help but nothing happened.
But less than two hours after her initial conversation with one of then-U.S. Rep. Bill Sali's employees, the congressman called back.
"He called from D.C. and told us we were his No. 1 priority," she said. "Within hours, we got a phone call from the U.S. consulate. They said, 'It appears you and your husband know the right people, because we have been forced to order you a border letter.'"

'Course, the same thing can be said about Austin...can't throw a rock on 6th Street without hitting a musician, and can't take five steps without seeing a gorgeous woman with a sexy Texas accent.

This guy says this won't keep him from visiting his favorite place in Baja. Something tells me he doesn't spend a lot of time around Mexican people while he is down there. He obviously doesn't know what's going on in the streets.
I even wonder if he knows if Bill Sali, who save his sorry @$$ last time, was voted out of office in last year's election debacle.

My many dealings in Mexico over the last 60 years, you had better not be anything but a standard tourist if you don't know plenty of people in high places in their government.
I never paid mordita for anything but was fined $375 for landing after the curfew but I got even with the com andante and had him thrown in jail by the secretary of transportation.
