I went to a local Dick’s sporting goods and they had no shortage of anything... are these hyped up stories to detract from an Obama gun grab?

The cupboards are bare at Dick’s and Gander Mountain in NE Penna. Cabelas is backordered on 90% of all popular ammo grades.

The ammo shortage is very real.
There is absolutely no 7.62 x 39 anywhere within a 50 mile radius of where I live. I know, because I check In person on a regular basis.
.38 Special is completely gone off of most store shelves. I was at Gander Mountain yesterday and they had (1) box of .38 SPL 158 Gr. LRN. They wanted $49.99 for it! (I was buying 50 round boxes of .38 SPL for $17-$18 just two months ago. (Luckily, on the bottom shelf I found a “Mega Pack” of 250 rounds of Remington UMC 130 Gr. Metal Jacketed for $99.99)
The last few boxes of 7.62 x 39 that I found a few weeks ago cost me $10 per 20-round box for Bear Silver. This same ammo just 6-9 months ago would probably have sold for about $3 per box.

I went to the Crossroads of the West gun show in Reno on Saturday. I was there at 8:30 for a nine am opening. There were 300 people in line when I got there. By 9am there were at least 500 waiting to get in. The line was over 600 feet long three or four people wide. When I got in I was surprised how open the show was then I looked to the left and there were about 120 people mobbing the largest ammo seller. The second largest had a row 75 feet long and four deep. there were VERY few AR's unlike the last show in November where there were plenty. I asked some of the biggest dealers and how I could get one they said we will put you on the waiting lest which is over 1200 orders long. I left the show at noon, 9mm,5,56mm and ALL other pistol loads along with primers were GONE!
Today I was in WallyMart they are wiped out of anything pistol. Some 22 and ample game loads of shotgun in 12 and 20 ga, no 00 buck or even anything larger than #6 shot..

No, there is a Nationwide shortage of ammo... and black guns... where available... are priced 1.5 to 5 times beyond their retail pricing.
