Jeff Johnson knows how to make his audiences squirm. The young, black radio and TV political commentator waits for the discussion to turn to the topic being talked about ceaselessly, incessantly, ad nauseam: the meaning of the barrier-breaking election of Barack Obama.
Then, in his laid-back style, he says, "The real issue for me is that history is not enough." That's when the mood becomes tense.
"Black folks, in particular, get irritated," says Johnson, who travels the lecture circuit, hosts a half-hour show on Black Entertainment Television and has a weekly spot for social criticism on a radio program popular with black listeners. Get past "Obama the personality" and see "Obama the president," he says. "Otherwise all you're being is a political-celebrity groupie instead of a citizen. . . . It starts with acknowledging he's my president, and not my homie."
As the nation's first black president settles into the office, a division is deepening between two groups of African Americans: those who want to continue to praise Obama and his historic ascendancy, and those who want to examine him more critically now that the election is over.
Johnson is one of a growing number of black academics, commentators and authors determined to press Obama on issues such as the elimination of racial profiling and the double-digit unemployment rate among blacks.

Anyone--ANYONE who looks at Hussein and fawns because he is black is behaving like a racist.
My disdain for Hussein has absolutely nothing to do with the color of his skin. I would despise the policies and behaviors of a white man or an Asian or an Eskimo or a Latino with the same vigor as I do Hussein's.
Frankly, all I see from the LameStream Media and liberal people I know is adulation at him...much of it, it appears, is because he is black.
I saw a news story about the NAACP in February--Black History Month--and the "journalist" played the entire inaugural oath by Hussein, before telling us that if it weren't for the liberals at the NAALCP, Obama would never have been elected. The whole thing was revolting--the "journalist" was not telling history, they were engaging in partisan hagiography.
Given Obama's extreme leftist inclinations, unemployment might well rise to 15 or 20 percent in the very near future, and lead to an increase in social pathology among blacks that will most certainly inflate racial tensions. It'll be interesting to see what blacks think of him then, although my guess is that his support will likely remain high.
No, just socialism. Obama WILL make people equal. Unfortunately he will do this by increasing the white community unemployment rate to the black community rate, as opposed to reducing the black one to the white one.

The media will need to pull double and triple time covering for the ignorant bastard. If Obama's performance even slightly gets tied to race, then even 1,000 race cards and a large acorn won't help another minority get elected. Obama has made race a major issue since he's become President, embracing and praising even the likes of the racist, sob socialist Lula of Brasil after his hateful commentary. Let's not forget the "hate reverend" wright that obama visited for 20 years with nary a peep against his racist rants.
All I see is a backlash building. How it manifests depends on how intact our Republic is during the next round of elections. Should it not be intact, then the backlash can't really take place as votes...
What about Obama's mad push towards nationalized socialism? Obama's control of banks, the auto industry, the energy industry, the health industry. What about Obama's massive tax increases, and his unsustainable and out of control budget proposals. What about Obama's push to fund abortions and force doctors to perform them. Obama is pushing us to a government that looks an awful lot like NAZI Germany, and all they care about is racial profiling....
When I was at Parris Island, the “splibs” (I’m sure that word isn’t used there any more) were allowed to punish one of their own for jumping ahead in the chow line. I’ve seen some pretty brutal punishment for much smaller offenses.
What I saw that day convinced me that they would protect each other against “the man” even if they were slicing each other up with switchblades. They didn’t make him do diddly.
It’s been almost 40 years and I have never had any reason to change my thinking. Truth and justice get trumped by race the vast majority of the time.

Of course, he was the right color and that was the only important thing BEFORE the election. They want to critque him NOW, 6 months after he’s already won.
Sorry, I have no respect for this radio host or those in the African American community who refused to see this idiot for what he is when it mattered. We’re stuck with him now thanks to these lemmings.

Not really. This fellow Jeff Johnson seems only to be concerned about what The Bammer can do for blacks, and is critical if he thinks The Bammer isn’t doing as much as he (Johnson) wants.
Let’s face it: It’s all about race; first, foremost, and always. Race trumps all for people such as Mr. Johnson.
He’s not OPENLY sopping enough to the “black lobby”,
but if you examine all of his policies so far by who benefits and who pays,
they’re all de facto reparations, using proxy groupings instead of race.
Comments from any black FReepers would be welcome. Is there any “it’s our turn to oppress whitey” talk going on among formerly mainstream black folks? First hand only, for fairness.
