Chicago, Tuesday, April 7 Two Protests at Notre Dame Trustees' Offices
Notre Dame by-laws state that the Board of Trustees is charged to: "Ensure that the University maintains its essential character as a Catholic institution of higher learning;" Inviting President Obama flagrantly violates the "essential character" of a "Catholic institution;" Obama's policies are resulting in the death of the innocent across the world. It is a betrayal of the innocent unborn that are being killed, a betrayal God's Laws, and therefore an offense against heaven. Join us in Chicago to call on the Trustees to fulfill their duty.

He’s the President of the United States. Respect the office, if not the man.
“Hes the President of the United States. Respect the office, if not the man.”
Not when the Office holds a man who endorses the killing of millions of innocent lives. Your indignation is misplaced.
Notre Dame INVITED an ANTI-LIFE MAN to speak and receive an honorary degree.
That action endorses his ANTI-LIFE views.
That is WRONG and has NOTHING to do with “respecting the office”.
BO didn’t ask, a CATHOLIC university has no business initiating such action!
Perhaps that’s the attitude that the German’s had toward a certain young Austrian.
That has nothing to do with this issue! Did you say the same about President George W. Bush?
As far as his being pres__ent...that is also up to debate.
One day soon, hopefully, the ID issue will be resolved. CONgre$$ and SCOTUS ignoring it will not make it go away.
That argument won't hold water.
I will respect the office when, and only when, it is conducted within the powers granted to it by the Constitution. When the office of the President spends beyond its means and fires CEOs, then it has exceeded its authority and has lost my respect.
I cannot respect a man who believes it is ok to kill the survivors of abortion.
For an old timer FReeper, you sure know how to kick a beehive.
Being a life-long Fighting Irish fan, I'm going to have to re-evaluate my position if this thing goes through.
Okay, fine. I respect the office. In what way does that require any private organization to invite the President to speak or award him an honorary degree?
Barry's statements, expressed beliefs, and practices -- from baby killing, to homosexuality, to Black liberation theology, to Islam -- are abhorrent, repulsive and incongruous with Christ's teachings.
The Catholic Church has a much greater responsibility. They must respect Jesus, not the office or the man.
Obama voted against the 'Born Alive Protection Act' and allowed newborn babies to die without being offered food, water, or warmth. Only a monster would do such a thing...IMO
I find it impossible to respect anything about him.
The honorary degree is being granted to the man, not the office.
Hi Justa! Honorary degree to go with his honorary birth certificate. He needs a dishonorable discharge ASAP.
These guys sound like they got Obama derangement syndrome (ODS). I thought only liberals got deranged over elected officials they don’t like.
Anyone voting for bills when NARAL doesn't even support it; I think is morally reprehensible and certainly not worthy of honorary degrees.
I don't think this line of thinking disrespects the office of the president. Even the Marines implore God to follow the president, I think most would consider them respectful to his office.
What are you some sort of sleeper troll? Obama stands for many things the Catholic Church is against. There is nothing deranged about being against him showing up at ND. All the Catholics I know are 100% against it. In your opinion, I guess they are deranged as well.
Granted he’s morally reprehensible, and probably wants to destroy this country, or at least take it down a peg or two, but, until somone proves otherwise, he’s the Constitutionally elected President of of the United states of America.
