A teacher rented a gun at my range, just outside of Milwaukee, and killed him self just last week.

Are statistics like this collected somewhere? Owners of ranges might want to collect them to defend themselves as to ranges’ safety. Gun-control forces might use incidents like these to argue that the ranges themselves are somehow encouraging violence against oneself or others.
Having some statistics showing the overall safety of ranges, and the tiny proportion of things like this as oppossed to safe-shooting “incidents”, would help.
The thing about a suicide like this is that they are so visibly connected - the gun to the death. There may be thousands of people that commit suicide each year by driving into bridge abutments, but how would we know? Those suicides will be attributed to the driver dozing off, or just some inexplicable malfunction.
It said he left a suicide note. Did you ever find out why he did this?
