Fox News ^ | 04-06-09 | Neil Cavuto

Posted on 04/07/2009 3:28:35 PM PDT by GOP_Lady

Rush Limbaugh to New York: "Drop dead. I'm leaving." New York to Rush: "Don't let the screen door hit you on the way out."

And with that, New York Governor David Paterson laughed off a millionaire packing up and heading out. Paterson even found it funny.

Personally I think it will be funny as heck. Just read ATLAS SHRUGGED for the ending of the story.

Its not funny, its economics. Rational people, on balance, will make decisions to maximize their economic well being. If a given state punishes wealth, success, producers, etc., it should come as no surprise that they will see an exodus of said producers. To joke about it, though, is just plain demented.

For quite some time now, California state & local officials have had a “Screw ‘em...let them leave” mentality to businesses that have fled the state for a better business climate. They still don’t get it. I suspect the state of New York will be no different.

Well said by Neil Cavuto.

I’d bet Rush would be tickled pink to have more top Dems pic fights with him, Obambi and Paterson had made Rush richer.

So your allegiance is to Limbaugh rather than to America?

It would be interesting if Atlas Shrugged in New York and make it look like Detroit in the 70’s times a million.

We should see if there are any East Coast conservative cities these shrugee’s could re-locate to.

I imagine many high income producers will be leaving without even saying good bye.

NYC and the left governor of NY will find out about it when their quarterly tax intake drops like our DJIA has the past year.

Well. My allegiance is to America. That, however, doesn’t mean I have to stay here and be flogged. I have the ability to move to a more welcoming site and work to restore America to the land of individual ruggedness, as TR would say.

When the Feds trample the Constitution (which was a grant of power from the people of the several states), to take law and direction from other countries, we need to say “STOP”..you don’t have the authority to do this!

So.. like Limbaugh you prefer to run than to fight.

Interesting.

Don’t worry; just follow the doctor’s who refuse to do abortions. Now, if only people would take the plunge in ALL the high tax states, then you’d get their attention!

That's not what he's saying and you know it. This is the same kind of behavior that Britain faced in the late 60's when they levied the Super Tax on its citizens. Back then, a British pound was about $2.40. With the Super Tax, when you made over about $35,000, the British gov't took $2.38 of the $35,001 dollar. What this Freeper is saying is that if the gov't doesn't wise up, we'll see the same Brain Drain Britain saw in the late 60's and early 70's. Productive people will migrate away from high taxes and unproductive people will migrate to "free money". If you don't believe this, look at the demographics for the voters who put Obama into office.

Perhaps like many of us, the Constitution trumps Limbaugh and the American Government for loyalty.
