President Barack Obama is going home with non, nein and no ringing in his ears
The Telegraph ^ | 4/7/2009 | Irwin Stelzer

The US President has to explain why he is sending more troops into Afghanistan and his Nato allies won't

Fugedaboutit. For those of you who don't speak New York, that's "forget about it", the most emphatic of the negatives in a New Yorker's repertoire. But it has nothing like the power to influence events that the "non", "nein" and "no" that capped Barack Obama's tour of Europe have. It is one thing to attract a crowd in Berlin, a city in which politicians have historically been successful in attracting mass audiences, or to wow several hundred adolescents in Strasbourg and thousands of adults in Prague with talk of a nuclear-free world, and quite another to get the elected representatives of those crowds to shoulder a fair share of the burden of the fight against Islamist terrorists.

The leaders of Europe came naked to the Nato meeting last weekend, shorn of the cover provided by Bush-hatred. As the American commentator Robert Kagan puts it: "George W Bush did the Europeans a great favour by giving them the best excuse for inaction in transatlantic history." Europe's leaders have always claimed they would co-operate with America in all things, were it not for that toxic Texan with his unilateralist belief in spreading democracy and free markets.

Well, George W Bush is safely back in Texas, Barack Obama wants to listen as well as lead, and Michelle Obama, after a touchy-feely visit with the Queen, proved to have more crowd-appeal than Carla Bruni. One astute observer told me that British and European crowds "went weak-kneed in the presence of the Obamas". But popularity on the streets means little in the conference room.

At the Nato meetings, "weak-kneed" took on an added meaning – no significant permanent deployment of fighting troops to aid the Americans.

So now the empty suit also has empty pockets and an empty head. Complete package.

With those ears, the ringing will sound like Hells Bells...

He could “surge” into Afghanistan every single American troop that is now in Iraq, and it wouldn’t be enough to do squat.

Obama, I hope you like your Vietnam....

I would give anything to hear Joe S on PMSNBC read this article on Morning Joe tomorrow. Just to watch Mika’s face would be priceless.

The MSM can print all the positive stories they want about the Messiahs crusade through Europe, but it will be like a sugar high, short lived, and the crash will come sooner than they think.

The North Koreans are laughing at Hillary and Susan Rice flailing around trying to get the UN to even send an angry letter to Kim JOng Il.

The Russians are smiling ear to ear at Obami’s offer to give up the missle defense system in Poalnd and the Czech Republic in return for the Ruskies retiring a couple of disintegrating nuclear missles.

The Iranians are happiest of all, for even though they and the Chicoms have been caught red handed importing nuclear and missle related materials, the One won’t even raise a finger to stop them. To do so would be to admit that the Iranians have an active program to develop nuclear weapons, as well as the missle systems to deliver them to destroy Israel.

On all fronts, the trip has been a diasaster, even the Saudi King must be chuckling at the Dhimmi who bowed before his greatness.

This, on the heels of his deep bow to Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah (the Queen of England merited what can at best be described as a deferential nod).

And this covered up by the US MSM (until BOR finally brought it up this evening).

That’s “no” in French, German, and English. But how do you say “no” in Austrian?

I have a different reaction. I just want to puke.

Oooooo! I just had a brain storm! If anyone wants to be my hero then find out where one of the Obama's is going to be glad-handing. Then eat a big meal and go there with a bottle of syrup if ipecac in your pocket and about 3 minutes before eh Obama's get there, drink it up and just as Obama gets there .... RALPH! all over him!

BWAHAHAHAHA! (I need an evil scientist gif here).

Obama doesn’t give a rat’s a$$ about the Europeans - he doesn’t identify with them and aside from the show, he’s written them off. The big part of his trip (for him) was the visit to Turkey, paying obeisance to the Saudi king (who is the guardian of the holy Muslim sites), and in general sucking up to the Muslims.
