Levi Johnston: My Family's Not White Trash (Lightly Pigmented Refuse then?)

(CBS) Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, John McCain's running mate in last year's presidential race, is a new grandmother.

But a war of words is escalating between her camp and Levi Johnston, the father of Tripp, the baby Palin's teenage daughter, Bristol, had in late December. Levi and Bristol have broken off their engagement.

On "The Tyra Banks Show" earlier this week, Johnston said Sarah Palin almost certainly knew the two teens were having sex before Bristol got pregnant, and he admitted the obvious -- that they didn't always practice safe sex.

I watched the Tyra show interview, and he is just a stupid kid... ...but of course Tyra wanted dirt. ...It was really clear that the instigator of this trashing was his sister. Pretty clear why Bristol doesn’t want her son around that girl...

I agree; his mother and sister were pathological. That sister was devouring and possessive, treating Levi as if he were her boyfriend, including having tattooed Levi's name on her arm. Her spite and jealousy were as poisonous as the mother was passive and enabling.

Even though Tyra comes from the lightest of lightweight superficial industries, all things considered, I think she did a pretty good job of the interview and did not go for the jugular as Katie Couric would have done. She asked tasteless personal questions because she hangs out with gay men all the time as a "supermodel," and has not had extensive experience among people who put brains and lasting values ahead of appearances, fashions and thrills.

I do have to give her credit for business acumen and promotional skills, as well as her always pleasant and loving dispostion. She appears to have a very loving relationship with her own mother, and often tries to help women avoid low self-esteem having to do with weight and appearance. It may be superficial, but if I had to choose which to be stranded with in an emergency, Tyra or Couric (I am a woman, so attractiveness is not an issue — personality is), it would be Tyra without hesitation.

I've much enjoyed your back & forth on this. Great job and you both make great points.

From a purely political standpoint in a time prior to the past few years where I thought I understood the electorate, I think Vin has it right. Problem is, I don't much understand the American electorate anymore so I think the Palins have to trust their instincts on this.

I'm sure poor Todd is in a stew over this and I think his instincts would probably be exactly what mick is saying, make that wretched Levi an offer he can't refuse. :) Problem is his wife is now the most watched and arguably the most famous woman in the world. If I've got him pegged right, his frustration level must be through the roof.

Sorry for the ramble. All the best to you guys.

You’re right, as usual, Mick. You have to get up their to Anchorage and organize the family business. She may have charisma, but she needs a little hard knuckles “Jersey” politics. -:)

Yep, somebody shoulda taken care of this "South Philly style."

Thanks, Al.

Frankly speaking, I think both of you guys have a better handle on the electorate than I do. I've been reading your posts. Good stuff from you both.

I lost a bet with my son last November about who would win. He told me the polls were accurate after october and that Mac was tanking and I didn't - couldn't - believe it.

So when it comes to SP and how to handle the lying, america hating, media I get so frustrated all I can do is reach for my baseball bat!

Take care.

*******************

Big Al, had Mick been handling this matter, it would have been a done deal.

He would have spoken to Father Johnson and explained how the Palin family could be generous to those who understand the law of “omerta”.

If that didn’t work, one day old-man Johnson would have found a carabou head in his bed.

Is that South Philly (Rizzo) style? -:)

Oh, you don’t ramble, Al.

Okay, so, I didn’t watch the whole Tyra show...I just this minute saw the thing about his sister tatooing his name on her wrist.

This is a very unhealthy family. I think there may be some incest going on. The way that sister behaves is very sick indeed.

I take back what I said before.....Bristol, go to court and keep that baby away from this side show circus.

No, that's Hollywood and New York style.

I haven't heard anything about this boy having a father in the home. He is obviously in need of guidance.

Seriously, if the Johnstons had any smarts at all, they would welcome the influence of the Palins on that boy. But, they have no smarts at all.

How weird is it that this is the exact statement Levi's creepy sister made today?

Pretty weird, I’d say. Who knows. Maybe she’s lurking around here. If so, I say “don’t use my stuff”.

Anyway, regardless of popular opinion around here, I like and voted for Sarah Palin, I don’t think the Palins have done Levi wrong, and I think it would be best if the two families handled this business privately.

You bring my kids into it, and you’re just plain wrong. Grow up.

Let's see, who needs to grow up? You attack the Palins and their kid on the thread, lots of people on the thread reject your snide comments, even posting them back to you so you could review your negative judgments, then you start backpedaling, and then you start whining.

The picture of Jon Lovitz and Phil Hartmann is from an old SNL skit in which an actor's agent tells him over and over and over that he's through in the business, and the actor keeps denying what he has heard, asking it a different way over and over -- "Give it to me straight!" "What's the word on the street?" -- absolutely refusing to hear what is being said.

Hope this clears things up for ya!

She said the exact same thing to me earlier. It is childish isn’t? Anytime you don’t agree with someone “I wouldn’t let my kids hang out with yours, or I wouldn’t let my kids go to your house”. LOL. Guess what? We don’t want your kids over our houses neither, nyaahhh (in the vein of childish behavior).

My words were a metaphor. I don't know you, I don't know if you have kids, and very frankly, the thread is not about you. My remarks were merely figurative.

You went on a conservative site, knocked Sarah Palin, her family and her daughter, all of whom have already been unfairly treated in the media; as a result, lots of FReepers called you down; no one supported your position -- and now you haven't the common sense to just let it go?

I'll pray for you. Otherwise, I'm done here.

“You went on a conservative site...” Agreed. Where else should I go?

“.. knocked Sarah Palin, her family and her daughter.” I still don’t think I did that. I understand you disagree.

“...all of whom have already been unfairly treated in the media...” I agree!

“..lots of FReepers called you down...” Sure did. Fair enough. But it seems a few of them made it personal. Which I just don’t get.
“...no one supported your position...” Not accurate.

“...you haven’t the common sense to just let it go.”
Already gone.

Yeah his mother will get to handling this privately right after she gets done talking to US weekly.

Privately will not happen. As I’ve been saying for a couple days here, these creeps saw Bristol as a gravy train and now they are using the baby and milking the break up for anything they can get.
