Olongapo!
In about 1990 my nephew got back from his first westpac with the Marines. He and my step father, who had built warehouses at Subic Bay with the CBs in WWII were swapping memories of the PI. My step father, who was in his 70s at the time said something about a little village on the other side of the bridge from the base but he couldn't remember the name of the place.
Nephew: "Ologapo? It's a big village now."
Step father: "You been there?"
Nephew: "Yea after about two months on board ship".
Step father: "Hope you've had your shots."
Apparently some things hadn't changed much in 45 years.
