I've always hated stopping along I-70 right before the IL. state line to separate my pistol from the ammo, lock the pistol in one box and the ammo in another box

What good is that if your ammo is one place and your pistol is another? Doesn't make sense.

And what good does it do to have either locked up? Do you tell a bad guy "hey, my gun is locked up, hold on one second whilst I retrieve it".

State of Illinois law. I break their law, I get my guns taken away in Indiana.

That’s the rules. My carry permit is no good in Illinois.
