In the Protestant South, Good Friday was ignored. We celebrated Easter Monday.

Here in central Missouri, in our small town’s school district, they build Spring Break around Easter. The children are out of school for Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Monday.

We celebrated Easter Monday.

In my part of the South, all Christians (except Eastern Orthodox) will be celebrating Easter next Sunday. I didn't notice anyone celebrating it last Monday. But maybe I was just inattentive.

This is also the custom in Roman Catholic France.
