While all of this is going on, Israel can sneak in from the strait and take out Irans oil production facilities.

Then threaten them with annihilation unless they stop their nuclear ambitions.

Will the camels be employed to pull the aircraft around?

So they have a 140 jets that we sold them 20-30 years ago with very few spare parts.

In the intervening 30 years, I'm sure they've been able to reverse-engineer and develop support capabilities for their F-14 parts and build their own parts-supply operation. You have the shop resources of a nation-state behind a pretty high priority for them, and these are pretty intelligent, professional people in the IAF.

As for their exercise .... If they want to make it realistic, they'll be scrambling their fighter wings to chase after ghosts and wisps left behind by the opfor.

And tall pillars of dense, black smoke.

Israel 99 Syrian Air-Force goose egg over the Bekka valley. I doubt the flying mullahs and the will of god are going to do any better.

F5 Tigersharks from when they bought them in the 70s...

They were called "Freedom Fighters" in F-5 form ..... the Tigershark was the preproduction F-20 Northrop tried unsuccessfully to market, which was an F-5 airframe wrapped around a single J79 engine. It was a hot rod; I think they even had Chuck Yeager fly it for marketing purposes. I think the problem was the limited space available for avionics etc.

Same here. No better time than when all their planes are in the air to give them a neighborly hand in completing some long overdue runway “enhancements”. ;)

I’d hate to be the one flying an Iranian F14. After all these years of no access to spare parts, I figure those birds have got to be held together with spit and glue. Maybe they’ve cannibalized their Tomcats to put a few of them in good shape, though.

Public domain intelligence estimates put the number of flyable IRIAF Tomcats at 44. Iran has gotten help from Soviet, French, Israeli, Chinese and traitorous American sources to keep the fleet flying.

A junk Air-force for Junk People! who cares what these cavemen try to do they will always be a dozen steps behind. the Problem was when Carter was in office they pushed him around and got away with it like they do every-time.

IF they have a flying F-14, it is nothing more than a shell, not a fighter. Trust me. . . .(former Pentagon gunrunner).

The time to strike is coming as soon as the exercise is over, personel will be tired, planes will be down, equipment
in repair, and out of position.

It’s when I would hit them.

Any plane is dangerous in the hands of an experienced pilot. Given the history of Arab air forces at the hands of an enemy, I doubt that they are up to snuff. As for the F-14s, Grumman sold them to Iran in the late 1970s, and that was before the embargo, so I doubt that are up to modern specs. Though there is a story of an Iranian pilot being the only one to knock out an Iraqi fighter with a Phoenix missile. Besides all you have to do is knock out their command and control stations like during Operation Desert Storm, and they don’t have any night fighting ability. But, be careful with the Mig-29.

The F-5s are Northrop aircraft sold to Iran when the Shaw was in power.
