This is difficult for me to admit but, admit it I have to: My liberal friends were right.
They told me if I voted for McCain, the nation's Hope would deteriorate, and sure enough there has been a 20 point drop in the Consumer Confidence Index since the election, reaching a lower point than any time during the Bush administration.
They told me if I voted for McCain, the US would become more deeply embroiled in the Middle East, and sure enough, tens of thousands of additional troops are scheduled to be deployed into Afghanistan ..
They told me if I voted for McCain, that the economy would get worse, and sure enough unemployment is approaching 8.8% and the new stimulus packages recently sent the stock market lower than at any time since 9-11.
They told me if I voted for McCain, we would see more "crooks" in high ranking positions in Federal government and sure enough, several recent cabinet nominees and Senate appointments revealed resumes of scandal, bribery and tax fraud..
They told me if I voted for McCain, we would see more "Pork at the trough" in Federal government and sure enough, 17,500 "Pork Bills" showed up in Congress in just three weeks...
They told me if I voted for McCain, we would see more deficit spending in DC and sure enough, Obama spent more in just 30 days than all other Presidents together in the history of the good 'ole USA .....
Well I ignored my Democrat friends in November and voted for McCain.
And they were right ...
All of their predictions have come true.
If it weren’t so true and so sad, it would be funny.
Afghanistan is in Asia.
Actually that was in 1964 since Richard Nixon won in 1968.
Yeah, but it's guilt by association.
Longing for McCain ping

You are judged by the friends and company you keep.
You need new friends.

McCain wouldn’t be qualified to hold Goldwater’s jock-strap. I didn’t vote for either one of those jokers in 2008 and am proud of it.
Nixon ran against Humphrey in 1968.
So is the middle east.
I have been told “Cheer up things could be worse!” So I cheered up and sure as Hell they got worse.
But the Middle east is not Asia. It’s like saying California is the Midwest.
Kind of like “ The Greeks, the Romans will defeat”.
The Goldwater analogy doesn’t work. John “TARP” McCain is a statist pygmy compared to Goldwater. The debt projections would probably be just as high under President McCain. Conservatives better start disassocating themselves from the failed Republicans who helped to create this mess through their big spending, regulation, and bailouts.
voter abstinence for the win.
Dole/McCain 2012 !!!!!
I agree, but I still believe McCain wudda been immeasurably preferrable to this idiot. Still, maybe Obama might have a Jimminy Carter dead cat bounce and usher in 12 years of Republican rule.
