Liberals Disrupt Tancredo Speech at UNC-Chapel Hill
Carolina Politics Online ^ | 4/14/2009 | Bane Windlow

Tom Tancredo’s speech at UNC tonight was disrupted multiple times and from what I understand may have never even began. Several immature children who are students at the university ran up to the front of the room when Tancredo entered and held up a banner and began chanting over and over not allowing him to speak. A police officer eventually removed them and then several members of the audience began getting belligerent and shouting profanities at Tancredo. Ironically, they did all of this under the guise of free speech, claiming it was their First Amendment right to continue preventing Tancredo from speaking. Evidently free speech to them is only important when it’s speech they agree with and Tancredo’s First Amendment rights don’t matter. Don’t be surprised by this, however. Incidents like these go on all the time at college campuses. Bear in mind these are children who are there on their parents’ dimes and who have never lived a day in the real world in their entire sheltered lives.

I agree.

The people shouting down speakers, and hiding behind the first amendment are hypocrites. Their disruptions are depriving someone else of their first amendment rights! Their problem is they can’t even tolerate beliefs other than their own. They can’t tolerate other ideas because their philosophy is so terribly shallow, they don’t survive minimal scrutiny.

“Evidently free speech to them is only important when it’s speech they agree with and Tancredo’s First Amendment rights don’t matter.”

This was the Modus Operandi of the “Free Speech Movement” at Berkley in the 60’s so there is no reason to expect a different one from the commie’s of today. “Free Speech Corner” was only for the radicals.

It's a tough gig for a speaker like Tancredo, but I'm sure it goes with the territory. Here is a video of an "activist" getting arrested for pulling similar disruptive antics at an Ann Coulter speech at the College of New Jersey.

The funny thing is these "activists" never seem to change from when I was in school. They're always total candy-ass sissyboys or sexually deranged "wymyn."

They always remind me of a great quote from Ayn Rand:

"There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: the fashionable non-conformist."

Just keep kicking sand in the teeth of the working taxpayers of North Carolina. We might have to take a closer look at this Fourth Branch of North Carolina’s state government, seeing that it enjoys more line-item authority over its massive budget than the entire Judicial Branch.

When thinking about these liberal ass clowns, I remember a certain college student, tazers, several campus cops and “DON’T TAZE ME BRO”!! Why don’t we taze these ass clowns to remind them that free speech comes at a price..

In addition to the sanctions you mentioned, if a university had any intention to actually protect free speech rights, it would threaten these goons with (and enforce when necessary) expulsion. Maybe if some of these children had to leave their 4-year beer and sex orgy early, go home to Mom and Pop, and explain to them why they just wasted all those thousands put up for their college by getting kicked out over some childish stunt, then we might have some semblance of decorum at speeches on campus. Of course, some of their hippie parents would probably take their spoiled brat’s side in the whole thing.
