Since Rep. Ron Paul was speaking, there was a large contingent of Paulbots there. But I did see a lot of McCain-Palin bumperstickers on cars there too. Wide variety of people there.
Also note that nearby Houston had attracted 5000+ people and even closer Pearland had a good turn out too. And Galveston had a fair turnout, considering it is still recovering from hurricane Ike. Apparently very close by Kemah also had a small tea party. All of these events were going on simultaneously, so people just went to which ever one was closer.
Also note that this is less than a mile from the NASA Johnson Space Center, where a lot of Federal funds employ a lot of people in this area, directly or in businesses benefiting from a those high income jobs. I am sure a lot of people didn't show up out of fear of getting spotted, thus risking their job. Not to mention the high level of Democrat transplants working there.
I know Tom Delay and so far, this guy I helped elect is no Tom Delay.
Hopefully he will find his voice soon.
I called his Washington office and told his receptionist to ask Pete to call for Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano resignation over her Right-Wing & Veteran threat analysis.

I assume Rep. Olson was at the Sugar Land Tea Party on Wednesday. I don’t really know.
He was at the Freindswood Tea Party on Tuesday and gave a rousing speech and hung around until the end. He was taking a footlocker full of tea bags and petitions back to DC with him.
Cut Olson some slack, he just had a heart attack a month ago, but still is out there doing the work of a freshman congressman. He may not be as aggressive as DeLay, but seems to be the real deal. A whole lot better than Lampson.
Ping
Not to mention the GD traitors are there too.
BFL. Ron Paul is one of the few politicians I’d not boo off the stage at one of these rallies.
