People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices. It is im-possible indeed to prevent such meetings, by any law which either could be executed, or would be consistent with liberty and jus-tice. But though the law cannot hinder people of the same trade from sometimes assembling together, it ought to do nothing to facilitate such assemblies; much less to render them necessary.

A regulation which obliges all those of the same trade in a particular town to enter their names and places of abode in a public register, facilitates such assemblies...

A regulation which enables those of the same trade to tax themselves in order to provide for their poor, their sick, their widows, and orphans, by giving them a common interest to manage, renders such assemblies necessary.

An incorporation not only renders them necessary, but makes the act of the majority binding upon the whole. The Wealth of Nations, Book I, Chapter X

250,000 "right-wing extremist, redneck racists", who attended the Tea Parties on April 15th.
Pajamas Media puts participation at more than 623,000 while World Net Daily estimates 1 million Americans participated in at least 1,000 tea parties

One more thing regarding "racist" and "right wing" canards hurled at tea parties. "My" tea party included "people of color", a self identified liberal Democrat speaker, and another speaker irked at Obama for breaking his campaign promise to bring the troops home from Iraq. (Tea party organizers hosted an open microphone and issued an invitation to the crowd of 1,000 for people to come up and speak their mind.)

People cannot be taxed into prosperity. It doesn’t work that way. Government cannot create wealth. What government can do is provide for a stable and unobtrusive environment so that good jobs can be created and money can be invested. In that sense, it’s not about the government actually doing anything to create prosperity, it’s government staying out of the way.

What it all boils down to is we want what you should want for yourself, your children and their children. We want opportunity, liberty and the ability to own our lives. We don’t care about the color or gender of whoever sits in the Oval Office. We don’t want to overthrow the government or march on the White House with pitchforks and torches. All we want is for government to be our servant, not the other way around. As Lincoln reminded us at Gettysburg, Government should be OF the people, by the people and FOR the people, not a bunch of career corruptocraticans whose only real interest is keeping their cushy job.

Geezo Crow. What a concept! This "New Learning" amazes me!

With comments like yours, no wonder liberals are annoyed with us!

thanks geo.
I refuse to allow "Socialism" and "Progressivism" to be understood as benign, helpful, caring, sharing... Socialism and Progressivism are cannibalism.
