It's official: Obama creates more czars than the Romanovs (at least 18)
Foreign Policy ^ | 4-16-09 | David J. Rothkopf

It has finally happened. With yesterday's naming of Border Czar Alan Bersin, the Obama administration has by any reasonable reckoning passed the Romanov Dynasty in the production of czars. The Romanovs ruled Russia from 1613 with the ascension of Michael I through the abdication of Czar Nicholas II in 1917. During that time, they produced 18 czars. While it is harder to exactly count the number of Obama administration czars, with yesterday's appointment it seems fair to say it is now certainly in excess of 18.

One thing I will have to say in Obama’s favor... He certainly is aware that his own ideas are useless, so he appoints lots of people he can delegate work to. The only question is whether they are similarly useless.

Congress seems to be MIA while this Pretender takes apart our system of governance.

Unless Congress gets this under control, they might as well just pack up and go home because the country will be run by unelected czars and NGOs.

I don’t know about you, but my Congressmen and Senators are going to get a ration Monday they won’t soon forget.

If we come back to a Republican president, will he (or she) get rid of these czar posts?

Didn't Stalin create various commissars ... positions of power given to his loyal Communist party hacks?

“Czar” (definition): a tyrannical, absolute ruler, answerable to no one.

Czars represent a revolution overturning the Rule of Law the US Constitution.

Exactly, and correct me if I am wrong, czar is a word and a position that should never appear in a free society.

So does Bama our first Pharaoh have early morning meetings face to face or does he just get the instructions programmed into his mechanical devices after dark?

That’s right. There was a lot of concern over the “imperial presidency” when President Bush was in office but now - not so much. As noted on another thread, Sen. Byrd is the only one who has brought this up. Where’s everyone else?

Even Senator Byrd (D-West Virginia) has been outspoken about all of Obama’s czars.

Nope - it is my name. No relation. And my greatgrandmother said he had a foul mouth.

“In Filburn the Court unanimously reasoned that the power to regulate the price at which commerce occurs was inherent in the power to regulate commerce.”

“Wickard v. Filburn, 317 U.S. 111 (1942), is a Supreme Court of the United States decision interpreting the Commerce Clause of the United States Constitution, which permits the United States Congress to “regulate Commerce...among the several States.”

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wickard_v._Filburn

Looks to me the republic died 60 years ago.

Just hasn’t quit kicking, yet.

I might be willing to provide some kick, come to think of it.

;)

*“If we come back to a Republican president, will he (or she) get rid of these czar posts?”*

If it is a post that is permanent, at least a Republican
can change the people in the post and appoint those who
support America.

The New Border Czar is the former US Atty here in San Diego
He is also a long time friend of Bill Clinton
