Tea Baggers - What Are They REALLY Saying? (We're all racist "sore losers")
The Auburn Journal ^ | April 17, 2009

Posted on 04/18/2009 8:39:33 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

The Tea party movement might be seen as simple "sore loser" syndrome. The big-money entities pulling the levers behind the curtain are the same fringe religious right enablers that protect the entrenched beltway parasites. They hate change. They fear reform. Thus they are committed to obstructing our new reform-minded president from achieving any measurable success at all. He fails, they win, we all lose.

But even more revealingly, the election of "the nation's first African-American president" has fueled a potentially volatile resurgence of white supremacist "right-wing extremism" according to a new Department of Homeland Security report.

The conservative media has heavily promoted Tea Party events to fan the flames of anger against President Obama and his reforms. The media's in it for the money. But why, just now, are these "tax protests" popping up at all?

The suspiciously serendipitous timing of this "popular mass uprising" provides telling clues about it's origin and function (Hint: it's not about the historic Boston Tea Party in which British subjects stated their preference to be taxed only by representatives they themselves elected).

Here's what I think : it smacks heavily of the same-old-same-old Lee Atwater - Karl Rove Republican racist southern strategy, resurrected.

If the protests really ARE about taxes and wasteful government spending, where were the Teabaggers when Mr. Bush was borrowing billions monthly from communist China? And what of the countless billions "misplaced" and unaccounted for by government contractors such as Halliburton? No, spending can't be it.

It can't be about the economic stimulus either, because Republicans annually gave blank checks for endless military adventurism in foreign countries, while President Obama is spending our money here at home to improve infrastructure, and to create jobs and services for working Americans. The president's economic recovery package offers a 95 percent tax cut for all working American families. Surely the teabaggers can't be unhappy over that.

"They want failure!" revealed top GOP leader Rush Limbaugh of the Teabaggers; "Of course, they want him to fail!" Thank you for your honest candor, Mr. Limbaugh.

This kind of hubris has backfired on the GOP before. The rallies outside McCain-Palin events included the same kind of bile that is now seen at the tea parties; charges of fascism, Nazism, communism (sometimes strangely lumped together), terrorism, heresy, racial inferiority and other malicious or threatening criticisms.

While the sentiments of the angry but uninformed Teabag protesters may be sincere, images from the events have too often been racially offensive, revealing something much deeper and darker than an earnest desire for fiscal reform.

I am so sick of these vile perverts refering to TEA (taxed enough already) parties as "teabaggers". Yeah, we get it. You think dismissing protests against what you are doing to our country's economy and our children's future, with a word that describes a homosexual sex act, is a real hoot. Oh, aren't you so clever!

Every time I see the term, it reinforces just how vile and juvenile you people really are. This behavior is going to begin to wear on a lot of the non-liberal members of the population who helped elect Barak Obama to the Presidency. When they pulled the lever for Obama last November, you had promised them change and hope. You are delivering a devistating debt and responding to public anger about a serious issue with the most sophmoric of behavior. Many will come to realize that it was a mistake to entrust such smarmy juveniles with political power. Your behavior will give birth to many new Republicans.

What we have here is The Ministry of Truth in full swing.

This is not the first story, and it will not be the last time by any means.

Such total rot needs something more significant than a Barf Alert. Please consider adding [MiniTrue] to headlines of stories that are, in your opinion, total propaganda.

“The big-money entities pulling the levers behind the curtain are the same fringe religious right enablers that protect the entrenched beltway parasites.”

No footnote to go along with this charge? But you must have loads of documentary evidence.

“They hate change. They fear reform”

I often hear progressives/liberals/socialists/communists/fascists say this as if it’s an insult. I don’t get it.

“charges of fascism, Nazism, communism (sometimes strangely lumped together)”

Not so strange. Fascist Mussolini was a self-proclaimed socialist. “Nazi” derives its name from the National Socialist German Workers Party.

“And this is an outright LIE!!!”

Yeah, but it’s not a big deal. Not a lot of thought went into this piece as a whole, and you could tell by the time he got to the McCain rallies he had pretty much given up.

"It’s really simple...all the Tea Parties are about is restoring the Constitution. Article 1 section 8 states exactly what the Federal government has a charter to do, they have gone far beyond that charter. We need to enforce the contract."

I think that's what scares them.

GOOD post!

Thank you!

"It IS something much deeper and darker than an earnest desire for fiscal reform. It’s an earnest desire to prevent America from eroding into a European nanny state ruled by UN treaties and wealth redistributors. It’s an earnest desire not to become a Godless, gunless nation of welfare recipients grateful to be left scraps of freedom. It’s an earnest desire not to bankrupt future generations with the spending to buy pork with Chinese money. It’s a whole bunch of American people who see trouble ahead on the tracks and who are trying to stop this train."

Thank you!

My emphasis, btw.

“The suspiciously serendipitous timing of this ‘popular mass uprising’ provides telling clues about it’s origin and function”

What’s serendipitous about it? This was the first tax day since the multi-trillion dollar bailout boondoggle of ‘08-’09.

“Hint: it’s not about the historic Boston Tea Party in which British subjects stated their preference to be taxed only by representatives they themselves elected”

Actually, the Boston Tea Party was an act of corporate espionage against the crown-chartered monopoly of the East India Company. And the revolution as a whole wasn’t just about representation. It was about high taxes persay, and the “long train of abuses” in general. The colonists wouldn’t have consented to create a government at home to pursue the same policy of the British. Why go through all the trouble?

“Here’s what I think : it smacks heavily of the same-old-same-old Lee Atwater - Karl Rove Republican racist southern strategy, resurrected.”

Why is it automatically racist to appeal to people in the South? that’s downright Southist.

Besides, how does one entice Southerners to vote against Al Gore and John Kerry on the basis of race?

“If the protests really ARE about taxes and wasteful government spending, where were the Teabaggers when Mr. Bush was borrowing billions monthly from communist China?”

There was a tax day rally in my home state in previous years.

“It can’t be about the economic stimulus either, because Republicans annually gave blank checks for endless military adventurism in foreign countries”

War happens to be one of the natural (and Constitutional) exercises of federal power. Besides, even with two wars, defense still isn’t the largest single expenditure in the federal budget.

“while President Obama is spending our money here at home to improve infrastructure, and to create jobs and services for working Americans”

Broken Window Fallacy.

“The president’s economic recovery package offers a 95 percent tax cut for all working American families”

Nope.

“images from the events have too often been racially offensive, revealing something much deeper and darker than an earnest desire for fiscal reform.”

Examples, please. And don’t give me the sign with the black hand and the slogan about taxpayers not being an ATM.

Interesting that no author is listed. We have here not only a simpleton but a coward to boot.

Race is exactly 0% a factor.

Speaking personally, I don't even have a dog in the race fights (too young). I've never had a problem befriending anyone of any color or any nationality. It's about character, not color.

I read your post over on the Auburn site, nice job. After their initial knee jerk and parroted responses they don’t have any answer to reasoning and common sense.

Be nice if some of them came out from under the spell.

But why, just now, are these "tax protests" popping up at all?

Many people have had the value of their homes and retirement accounts whacked 25% or more and are pissed off that state and local governments are raising taxes or are actively trying to raise them. They know federal income taxes are likely to go up when the Bush tax cuts expire. They also know that cap and trade would raise their energy bills substantially and crush economic recovery.

They are so lame. They can’t come up with anything else, but to throw their typical demonizations with no truth to them. They are the racists who reward people for their color while it is not an honest ‘losing’ when you have concerns about flagrant fraud perpetrated by Demonrat groups like ACORN and that Ohio SOS deliberately encouraging it, allowing it right in front of everybody’s faces with evidence of mass ‘voter’ fraud. Now they are flipping when the protests and movement is against them! I see widespread panic on their part in all these nasty comments regarding the Tea Parties and I love it. It’s about time they got this kind of treatment. Their reaction reveals them in every way.

I’m going to tax you $100, but I’m going to take the money and burn it in front of you. How does that make you feel about taxes? What if I give you a $10 tax cut, but still burn it the remaining $90? Does that make you feel any better about how your tax dollars are being “spent?”

LOL!

Excellent letter. Great, funny opening. Bullet points. Short and sweet.

Letters to the Editor is the most-read section of the local paper. And short, punchy letters are the most read.
