he head of homeland security said Sunday she regrets that some people took offense over a report warning that right-wing extremist groups were trying to recruit disgruntled troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.
But Secretary Janet Napolitano added that "a number of groups far too numerous to mention" want to commit domestic terrorism attacks and are looking for new recruits.
She told a cable news network the warning report that went out to American law enforcement agencies was consistent with reports that were issued before.
"Here is the important point. The report is not saying that veterans are extremists. Far from it. What it is saying is returning veterans are targets of right-wing extremist groups that are trying to recruit those to commit violent acts within the country. We want to do all we can to prevent that," she said.
The intelligence assessment released to law enforcement on April 7 claims news of recession, the election of an African American president, rumors of new gun restrictions and the inability of veterans to reintegrate create fertile ground for radicalizing and recruiting right-wing extremists
Of particular interest among radicals is possible recruitment of returning troops with "combat skills and experience" so as to boost their "violent capabilities," the report said.

Now Napolitano is saying that veterans are too dumb to be trusted. She is telling veterans, which includes me, that they can't be trusted after returning home from risking their lives to protect the United States and the freedom we enjoy still .... despite the best efforts of liberals to undermine the Constitution and the rule of law.
If it were not for our soldiers, we would not have freedom of the press, assembly, and speech. If it were not for our soldiers, property rights and religious liberty would not exist. If it were not for our soldiers, Obama would not have had a chance to run for president, and Napolitano would not have her high-paying bureaucratic government job. If it were not for our soldiers, the Supreme Court wouldn't dare make controversial decisions. If it were not for our soldiers, Congress would not be free to discuss and pass legislation.
Napolitano continues to insult me and millions of others who have risked their lives to defend freedom.
She and Obama should be more concerned about radical leftist professors who are brain-washing college students. Veterans should be respected for their sacrifices and accomplishments. They have kept the world safe for democracy. They liberated 50 million people in Iraq and Afghanistan from tyranny, torture, and death at the hands of the Taliban and Saddam Hussein. They fought to protect South Vietnam from aggression. They liberated Europe from the evils of National Socialism. They defeated the USSR, the Evil Empire, under the direction of a real President - Ronald Reagan.
Instead of treating veterans with respect, the Obama administration is telling our all-volunteer military that they are suspects, not to be trusted. How many will continue to serve if they are considered by our government to be dumb and susceptible to manipulation by Islamists and other extremists?
The real suspects hold high offices, and need to be fired or voted out. Frankly, I wouldn't trust Napolitano or Obama for two seconds with my wallet, but I would gladly hand it to a veteran.
The woman needs to be fired.

The whole “too numerous to mention” thing is usually a lie. Especially when it comes to stuff like this. If someone asked me to name corrupt politicians, sure, I’d say they’re too numerous to mention. But if I was pressed to name left-wing radical groups, no problem. ACORN, ELF, La Raza, Code Pink, don’t know if Weathermen or SLA are still around.
Not saying all those groups actually sponsor terrorism. The right-wing groups Homeland Security is tracking probably don’t either.
I hang around airports and military bases....my hands wringing....my long hooked, warty nose quivering...Just waiting for those vulnerable vets to get off a plane or come off the base so I can recruit them into a life of terrorism.....Heh...heh...heh...
