Obama blames U.S. guns in Mexico

Pretty sure that drug-smuggling-criminals kill people, not their guns...

MEXICO CITY | Meeting face-to-face with Mexican President Felipe Calderon, President Obama on Thursday said the U.S. is to blame for much of Mexico's drug violence, and he set up a major congressional gun-control battle by calling on the Senate to ratify a treaty designed to track and cut the flow of guns to other countries.

Mr. Obama said he wants to renew a ban on some semiautomatic weapons but that it is not likely to pass Congress. Instead, he called for the Senate to ratify a decade-old hemispherewide treaty that would require nations to mark all weapons produced in the country and track them to make sure no weapons were exported to countries where they were banned.

There’s always a reason for Democrats to take away our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.
It’s not as if Mexico has a coast line where ships can bring in weapons from other countries....

"More than 90 percent of the guns recovered in Mexico come from the United States, many from gun shops that line our shared border."

The Big Lie!

This is nothing more than a major step in denying gun ownership to legal citizens of the U.S. - The fact regarding the “majority of illegal guns” Obama is claiming to be coming from the U.S. to Mexico is that Mexico has claimed that 90 percent of confiscated weapons with registration numbers (which is only between 10 to 15 percent of all the guns confiscated according to William Bennett) are from the U.S., and has shipped those guns to the Obama Admin. There is no verification that all of the guns with registration numbers are from the U.S. either. The Obama Admin knows that the U.S. is not supplying the Mexican Drug cartels with the majority of their firearms and is using this Cunard to grab out guns.

Has Obama apologized to Mexico yet? Or is he waiting so he can bow down to President Felipe De Jesus Calderon?

What a bunch of fools. Mexico makes a product, in this case, drugs, and the United States is to blame. Yup, blame it on guns. This whole thing leads to control of our people because Mexico can’t handle their own problems.

Mr. Obama said the treaty would "curb small-arms trafficking that is a source of so many of the weapons used in this drug war." Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman John Kerry, Massachusetts Democrat, said he supports Mr. Obama's ratification push and will work to get it through the Senate.

Imagine John F..nnn Kerry supporting a gun control Treaty.

The demand for these drugs in the United States is what's helping keep these cartels in business," Mr. Obama said at a joint news conference with Mr. Calderon.

Which brings up an interesting issue.

From Marxist Obama's own autobio, he was (and very hopefully is not currently) a user of "blow" (cocaine).

Where is his moral authority here?

Oh, and when was the last time he used...

Cocaine (any form)?

Any other illegal substance?

And, tobacco?.

Mister (alleged) president, the youth of America want to know.

Mexican drug cartels have hundreds of millions (maybe more) of dollars to buy weapons whenever, from whomever they want.

No reason for them to smuggle guns across the border.

Obammy’s next action is to crack down and tighten controls on heavily bladed weapons as this are being used to cut off the heads of many of these cartel’s victims. There is even talk coming from the adminastration about placing controls on pointed metal scissors. One spokes person for the adminastration stated: “No one but the government has need of pointed metal scissors and those who feel they do must have such dangerous weapons must be terrorist and a danger to us all, I mean what happens should the run with a pair?”

Hey, any excuse to overturn the 2nd amendment is a good excuse! The left will come to this eventually, though probably not directly. And that will be the day on which the US will either survive, or die. The actions of actual Americans will decide.

There was an article in the IBD that showed how they arrived at this figure.

90% of the guns that were actually sent to the US for serial number checks were checked positive for US origin.

So, you leave out those with the serial numbers missing, and those that clearly couldn't have come from the US (like full autos), and you check those that you ALREADY SUSPECT came from the US, and you're 90% correct.

“Yes, that is an outright lie supported by the corrupt MSM.”

It’s funny how these things work. I’m not even sure that Obama realizes it’s a lie. Presidents get fed the wrong information too.

Think of Bush—he seemed to be unaware that WMD’s were found in Iraq. In one of his last interviews, he was saying that was one of the biggest regrets of his presidency.

Right on!! It’s going to be up to us to protect our precious Second Amendment rights. The government, and it doesn’t matter whether it’s rightwing or leftwing, is always the enemy of freedom.

But let’s not stop with protecting our precious Second Amendment rights. All our constitutionally protected freedoms rise and fall together. The day that we agree that the government can from time to time ignore ANY of our rights under the constitution is the day they ALL start to die.

Actually, no excuse is a good excuse to overturn any of the Amendments, especially the 2nd Amendment - but that is just MHO.

When any politician, I mean any politician at all suggests that restricting any citizen's Liberty to benefit a foriegn country would be a good thing, then it's time to seriously take a look at the system that gave them that forum in the first place. And I will not take the blame for the failure of Mexican law enforcement. Neither will I recognize any restrictions that obama suggests as legitimate. That bozo can pound his BS way up there. That's my rant and I'm sticking to it.
