W flew a not-so-reliable plane, too. I don’t think any of the delta-winged planes lasted in the inventory as long as the F-4 Phantom II (AKA the flying bus) or the F-16 Fighting Falcon.
I think that actually having served in a war theatre would be much more valuable experience than service at home in the National Guard. That is what I was talking about.
