Fatties cause global warming

THE rising number of fat people was yesterday blamed for global warming.

Scientists warned that the increase in big-eaters means more food production — a major cause of CO2 gas emissions warming the planet.

Overweight people are also more likely to drive, adding to environmental damage.

Lard help us ... overweight must eat less for planet

Dr Phil Edwards, of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, said: “Moving about in a heavy body is like driving in a gas guzzler.”

Each fat person is said to be responsible for emitting a tonne more of climate-warming carbon dioxide per year than a thin one.

It means an extra BILLION TONNES of CO2 a year is created, according to World Health Organisation estimates of overweight people.

The scientists say providing extra grub for them to guzzle adds to carbon emissions that heat up the world, melting polar ice caps, raising sea levels and killing rain forests.

The environmental impact of fat humans is made even worse because they are more likely to travel by car — another major cause of carbon emissions.

And a story on Drudge and mentioned by Rush today say Senators and Congress-critters are getting FAT...

Pot, meet kettle. (Yes, Rush was doing pretty good there for awhile, when Marta had him on a diet)

This article only presents one side of the equation.

Fatties create shade.

>>down environmental side to all the exercise needed

Think how much pollution would not be emitted if all the treadmills, stairmasters and steppers were turned OFF.

Not to mention the power requirements of health clubs, their lights, stereos, showers etc etc.

Al Gore needs to lose some weight.

It wouldn't hurt Jerry Nadler (D-NY) to lose a few pounds, either.

Actually obesity is a cause of global warming, but not for the reason given. (i don't believe in AGW, but stick with me for a second).

Humans are endothermic, right? that means we have to produce heat. The more weight you have, the more heat is required to maintain 98.6 temperature. So obesity requires more heat production, which heat is eventually given off to the atmosphere, producing a (miniscule on a micro scale) increase in the total heat budget of the planet.

Next they will find something wrong with skinny people. Just you wait. Madness is taking over. Teddy Kennedy is pretty fat, we can weigh him & tax his pounds along with the other fat cats of DC. Shaking my head some more....

That's true. Skinny people don't support the economy. Tax them for what they should be buying.

You know, I'm a big guy. Quite a bit bigger than I need to be in fact.

But as a matter of choice, I live a fairly spartan life. I don't drive back and forth to the mall to buy the newest thing, or pop down to the charbucks for a crapifrapichino on a daily basis. Truth be told, I probably live much closer to the idiotic ideal of “carbon neutered”* than 99% of these fools who are whining about the width of my ass.

I grow much of my own food, compost food and yard waste, ride a fairly efficient Honda motorcycle in season to do errands and for work and enjoy seeing just how long I can go before having to waste money on a new item if the old one is still even marginally serviceable. Must come from being part frugal Scot.

So when you bastards with your toilet paper doctorates and your asinine studies start saying my existence is making the world hotter by increasing the CO2 content of the air, I say you're more of a threat to mankind than I shall ever be, you g*d damned nannies are spewing more hot air than any 10 people my size.

In other words “dr.” edwards, piss of you stinking limey bastard.

Didn't he get his stomach stapled? What a miserable surgery to endure. Bluck!

An LA Times writer today according to FNC has a piece on taxing fat and/or obese people for healthcare costs.

Wait until the moron finds out that in the USA the people who are the fattest are; blacks, hispanics and lower income.
