Anti-illegal immigration activist Chris Simcox is slated to announce Wednesday that he will challenge Arizona Sen. John McCain in a Republican primary in 2010.

A Simcox media coordinator confirmed that he has several media events scheduled across the state, including an announcement at the Arizona State Capitol in Phoenix. Simcox also has a campaign Web site set up -- www.simcoxforsenate.com.

"It's time to help put Arizona and America back on the right track by electing Chris Simcox to represent the Great State of Arizona in the United States Senate," the site says. "As a grass-roots, border security activist and founder of the original Minuteman Civil Defense Corps (MCDC), Chris has done more to make Arizona a safer and better place to live than most of the sanctimonious career politicians in Washington, D.C."

The mission of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps is to serve as a "neighbhorhood watch" for America's borders to prevent unlawful entry. The group says it provides evidence of illegal immigration to law enforcement officials, distinguishing itself from the Minutemen Project, a separate anti-illegal immigration organization that critics say promotes vigilante justice. The two groups are often confused.

I am thinking about establishing residency in AZ just so I can vote for him.

I won't go that far, but I will contribute to his campaign and offer lots of prayers

Every conservative who has finally HAD it with the antics of this misanthrope, his equally obnoxious daughter and was disappointed at the disparity between his attacks on fellow Republican candidates in the primary as opposed to his gentle and ineffectual treatment of the Obamanation in the general election, should send a contribution to Mr. Simcox.

Then MAIL a copy of the contribution to check to the RNC a sign of defiance and disgust at their anemic behavior in opposing Democrats and supporting miserable RINOs like McCain and Specter. A copy to Mr. McCain and a suitable communication of contempt would Also be in order.

Would someone please post a mailing address or URL where I can contribute directly to his campaign. (I don't want the GOP to get a dime of my money.)

Would be hilarious to hear a Simcox/McQueeg debate, and have Juan repeat (or deny?) all his Shamnesty crap.

I am beginning to have a very positive feeling that 2010 is going to be a major turning point in politics both for the Bolsheviks and the Mensheviks.

It would be refreshing to have a GOP senator who wasn’t a narcissistic bipolar-acting stockhom syndrome sufferer ...

wouldn’t it?

Does AZ have open, or closed, primaries?

If open, the crossover will let McCrazy win easily.

If they don't require picture ID for voting...half of Mexico will be at the polls!

ABSOLUTELY!!!

Conservatives ALL OVER AMERICA are being given a great opportunity to FINALLY hit back at these two egregious RINOs. If we fumble now, we have no one left to blame except ourselves.

Don’t know. Never been there.

But MONEY is the universal elixir of all campaigns. Thanks to his marriage partner, McCain has cash coming out of every oriface in his body. OUR efforts can help counter that and ease a victory for Simcox in Arizona and Toomey in PA. - AND send a message to the losers in the RNC that we want them removed.

even challenging a RINO incumbant will deny finacial oxygent to other RINOs.

(consider crist in FL essentially has a cake walk in FL’s open senate seat)

The key is to have VIABLE serious candidates. we have more than enough kooks who are opportunists under the conservative republican banner.

I want McCrazy gone too, but if it’s an open primary state with no ID to vote....big waste of time/money.
