Simcox kicks off Senate campaign; blames McCain for border violence

PHOENIX — Minuteman founder Chris Simcox announced his bid for U.S. Senate against John McCain Wednesday, blaming the senator for deaths caused from violence on the Mexican border and promising a national campaign to unseat the four-term incumbent.

“We have the ability to run a national campaign as well as a state campaign,” Simcox said outside the Arizona state Capitol. “There are millions of supporters around the country who have been waiting for some leadership in Washington to take on this border security issue.”

Simcox — who as president of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps has toured the country — blamed McCain Wednesday for being soft on immigration.

“He is fully responsible for the deaths along our borders, the raging violence in Mexico and the violence that we have in the streets of U.S. cities from border to border coast to coast,” Simcox said.

Are you ready with the op-research for Simcox? It’s time for them to get the BEST OF THE MCCAIN TRUTH FILE!

I can't do much for the next two weeks, but after that, all hell will break loose...and then, McCain will be kicked out of the Senate.

MaggieCarta prefers Mitt Romney. If you think Mitt is a “Conservative” you need to get help.

I don't think Palin is a Conservative. But she is admittedly to the right of Romney. That is not saying much, however.

Yes, yes, I most certainly would.

I know that.

All I'm saying here is that I think that someone has to step up to the plate and take on Zero. I applaud Gov Romney's efforts in this regard.

I agree. But lest others here would somehow convict me of being in favor of Romney, I believe his motive is not due to any particular principle, but more of a Clinton-ish "triangulation", positioning himself for votes.

Regards.
