I was thinking...what do we do with Austin and then it hit me. That’s where we could put all of you conservative immigrants. Dilute the place:’)

Ted, I love ya man but you can't secede. Now you can make five states and then get kicked out.

If it happened I believe a few other states would want to join too. 13 colonies maybe. It would actually be more of taking America back. I think if there is a choice most would rather save America than leave. JMO.

LOL! Good answer!

If some Americans need refuge, we'll dilute Toronto too!

If Texas, Florida and Alaska seceded and formed their own union it would certainly put a hurt on the U.S.

Ha, that was funny!
I don’t sit still very well.
So, was that a ‘yes’?
Can I bring my big old blind fat cripple dog with me?
Or does she have to stay behind?
She won’t be any trouble...I promise...

I was born in Upstate New York, raised in VA, but as soon as I was old enough I got down here to Texas as fast as I could and don't intend on leaving.

Should we secede? No, not yet. There are still a lot of avenues for us to pursue to take our country back. Just because we lose a few elections shouldn't mean we abandon our country that Texans have disproportionately fought and died for in every American War since the Mexican-American war.

Secession doesn't mean just saying “Adios Washington”. D.C. isn't going to just let us go without a fight. And that means spilling the blood of U.S. soldiers. It's not like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are going to come marching down here to take Texas back themselves. They will be sending federal troops made up of our friends, siblings, and relatives. Secession is not something we should just willy nilly enter into.

It should be for only one reason, to preserve liberty and a refuge for the oppressed and to ensure that a Government of the people, for the people, and by the people, does not perish from this earth. Though things are looking dark now, nothing that has been done is irreversible. America has recovered from worse and I believe she will again. As of now we still have the ability to change our government through democracy and civic participation. Though we are surrounded by the liberal media, we can still get our voices out through the internet, radio, and sometimes through TV (usually only FOX).

Before America declared her Independence from Britain, the colonists spent decades trying to get a fair shake from Britain. They didn't just wake up and decide to call it quits. They did everything they could to avoid war and separation. We should follow the same path that our for fathers did.

Would 50% of the population of the United States fit in Texas? I know they could physically fit, but would there be enough resources? water? food? jobs?

Supposedly the whole world's population would fit into Texas. Or at least people were saying that 30 years ago. Which is fine -- more room for the rest of us.

Ma'am, if I come all I would ask of the Government would be for 3 "handouts": a Texas Republic Army uniform, a rifle and all the ammo you could spare. Would that be askin' for to much? Freedom ain't free.

You all can go to hell. I'm going to Texas.

Sorry. No. You must go to Austin. The dog though ...he can stay as long as he gets along with the 3 legged lab and the not so smart bull dog that lives here.

18 - BTTT = “Just don’t bring your goofy liberal ideas down here to infect our state”.

We in Texas must take care to properly indoctrinate our new arrivals and to use what ever tactics necessary to convert them to being Texans or convert them to being gone. Don’t let the same thing to Txas happen, which has happened to Florida, Arizona and Nevada, where the local culture was overrun by “Damn Yankee” “Damn Mexican” or “Damn Californian” immigrants, who are trying to convert the states to Liberal Blue.
