Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio sent 200 deputies and volunteers to the Avondale area to crack down on crime and illegal immigration.
The sheriff’s office is setting up a command base for the effort on Van Buren Street in the west-side suburb. The sheriff has organized similar crime sweeps over the past year in Mesa, east Phoenix, north Phoenix and Guadalupe.
Critics say the tactics unfairly target Hispanics. The American Civil Liberties Union and Hispanic activists sued Arpaio in federal court saying the raids amount to racial profiling. The Obama administration also is looking into Arpaio’s enforcement policy.

Frankly, I’m amazed that he seems to be the only Sheriff with the testicular fortitude to do his job. You don’t hear of any other similar Sheriff in the entire USA willing to enforce the law.
I wonder why the heck the only person with an understanding of how to run a Sherrif’s department lives in Arizona (not that Arizona is a bad place to live - no offence intended in the least) - but why don’t we hear of similar Sherrifs in Texas, Utah, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming. Aren’t there any ‘real men’ who live there and have the job title ‘Sheriff’?

I’m just not that comfortable with this racial profiling. I think if he’s looking for illegal Mexicans he needs to interview more Jewish grandmothers, blacks, and rich white guys. That would be much more PC.

That was a great letter and if I’m not mistaken Sharpton hasn’t had much to say since Sheriff Joe sent it.
Arpaio also invited Conyers to visit him a while prior to the letter to Sharpton, he even offered to send him the air fare. LOL!
Definitely a great American, is Sheriff Arpaio...
And like always...the Hispanic Ku Klux Klan, La Raza (The Race) will be whining....along with their lawbreaking enablers the ACLU and the US Chamber of Commerce (Anti-American Collective of Communists)

Actually, there is another Sheriff tough on illegals....Arvin West in Hudspeth County, Texas. He has been interviewed on Fox a few times and has testified many times in regard to the illegal alien/illegal alien crime problem.
West’s sheriff’s department is small....5 deputies....so they do not get as much attention as Sheriff Arpaio and his Maricopa County SD.

Whenever you hear "sweeps" or "raids" you can be sure it's the MSM talking. The words invoke images of jackbooted thugs knocking on doors and dragging residents into the street due to their skin color. What really happens is that any vehicle with an expired license or an equipment problem or a traffic violation is pulled over and the driver is questioned. If he has a fraudulent or nonexistent driver's license, then he is detained. Something like 40% of those arrested in these patrols have warrants out for their arrest and are not illegals.

Check the births (free) in every major hospital in this country. Check the DUI's, the identity thieves, the child molesters, the murderers, the rapists, those who ALWAYS flee from the scene of an accident, the robberies, the gangs, the screaming 'entitled'. Then, tell me they are being unfairly targeted.
Yeah, you’ll notice the article doesn’t actually describe any of those “unfair” tactics. Apparently any law enforcement technique “unfairly targets hispanics” if any hispanics happen to live there.
For the life of me, I don’t understand the “Liberal” mind-set. How can anybody that is a tax-paying citizen even consider accepting this outrageous influx of ‘entitled’ crime in this country?
Political correctness, the victim-card mentality and all of that has been used to condition thinking down to a feel-good self-centered smugness that can be achieved with no effort. No critical thinking skills, study or personal responsibility is required.
Just slap the label on yourself, puff out your chest and you're all set to think of yourself as the pinnacle of human evolution. Superior to all those who struggle to live within traditional kinds of boundaries where morals, ethics and responsibility are valued. Where wisdom is acquired through effort, discipline and self-sacrifice. All that old junk that mankind has been working on for centuries.
It is easy to demonize that since history contains both the good and the bad. Just point to the bad and lump all the honest traditional efforts of mankind in with it and condemn the whole thing. All of man's history.
