Can America Afford to 'Go Green'?
ABC News ^ | April 22, 2009 | DAN HARRIS

Posted on 04/24/2009 4:05:33 AM PDT by rmarley

Strange-looking synthetic trees that suck carbon dioxide out of the air. Algae that can turn into gas. A candy factory fueled by methane from a local dump. At an Earth Day celebration in Newton, Iowa, today, President Obama said the United States must lead the world in renewable energy. He said his energy plan would simultaneously help the environment and the economy.

WT....??????

I was under the impression that's what real trees do. What's the point of wasting resources making artificial trees?

I guess I'm missing something here.....

Of course not. But affordability never stops democrats and communists from anything. We need to slow them down and fight a delaying war until next year when the mid-term elections come up. By then they will hopefully be exposed despite the left wing media attempt to justify their actions. Cap and trade and health care are the Guadacanal battles to fight this year.

These programs are the key. Once adopted we will never get rid of them. The other ridiculous ideas can be reversed.

What was well put. I just hope it is not the Alamo.

Everyday now there is at least one letter to the editor in my local rag citing all the benefits of going green generally written by some wide eyed eco liberal. Today’s was one about avoiding meat because of all the co2 emited by cattle since they “breathe”. I guess the next step would be to eliminate people as they also breathe and in that fashion the planet could become greener still.

I'd suggest self selection of those who feel an overwhelming desire to "save Gaia". Two problems solved at once.

The most pressing challenge is their plans to "fast track" health care legislation using the reconciliation process. I hear they want to have this done by June.

More jobs, of course. Too bad it costs a billion dollars to create three $12 an hour jobs that last about 8 months.

I'm still laughing - artificial trees to take Carbon dioxide out of the air! Good Grief - they have absolutely no challenge to be sensible!

Why should I trouble myself reading more than the initial part? Someone in the Democrat party is smoking a pretty powerful stimulant, if they believe the renewable crap being floated at present. We are years, even decades from the mythical nirvana of free and unlimited energy from a source yet discovered or developed. We are not coming off the use of what God has given us, OIL or coal, except at great peril to our well being and economy. How it is that supposed intelligent people can pass this hoax, political scam off as some kind of absolute necessity to save the planet/children/whales/seals/polarbears/spotted owls/etc. is insanity that not even the psychologist can hope to understand. This is nothing more than theft of the future, which is nothing more or less than the Obama budget.

What you are missing is that someone has found a way to channel the scam called global warming.

Well, they don't look like trees and they don't make Oxygen. They dump the CO2 into the ground. What a collossal waste of money.

Yeah, we need to get our scirmishers on the heights to slow down their advance and prevent a massed frontal assault.

Fortunately, they've blundered into a valley over this torture nonsense and we should be able to get them into a cross fire;

From the left; what did you know and when did you know it

From the right: what were the tangible results of the aggressive interrogations.

I wonder if your local editor would be in favor of ceasing publication of his polluting newspaper. Paper and ink production are incredibly polluting.

What hypocrites.

Liberals get bent out of shape when a skyline is “ruined” by putting up a cell tower, have no problem when acres of monstrosities such as giant noisy windmills or carbon suckers are constructed.
