McCain faces serious primary challenge
American Thinker ^ | 2009-04-24 | Kevin Jackson

Meet "Juan" McCain. You already know him as John McCain, however you can expect McCain to get much more in touch with his inner illegal alien.

McCain will finally get a serious primary challenge for his Senate seat from Chris Simcox, a founder of the Minutemen organization. How better to draw attention to ineffectual RINOs like McCain, than to take one out, and deservedly so. McCain's has been pandering to illegal aliens for the sake of votes. Because the fact of the matter is that no country in the world sanctions illegal immigration. (Except now, apparently, the United States.)

I won't dismiss all that McCain has done, as he has been moderately (good word) effective in his too-long career as a senator. However his attempt to always befriend the enemy vexes me and others in the Republican Party. McCain may find his stance on illegal immigration may have backfired.

Despite McCain having over $3M in funds available for his Senate race, Simcox has a real shot at winning. McCain has enjoyed big wins in his last three runs for Senator of Arizona, however he has essentially gone unchallenged, winning 76% of the vote in 2004. This means he lost 24% of the vote, with no challenger in place.

Not a bad start for Simcox, when you consider McCain proved his campaigning prowess in a contested campaign, getting publicly flogged by a candidate who ran on simply "hope and change."

McCain's new challenger has a real cause: stopping illegal immigration in America. Further Simcox is passionate about the idea that enforcing our country's immigration laws is the American thing to do.

So conservatives and Republicans, this is your chance to stand up for a candidate who is willing to rock the establishment, and to prove to the Republican Party that we are serious about extinction of RINOs. This is our opportunity to tell John McCain and his ilk, "No more, friend!" Or in Juan McCain's case..."No mas, amigo!"

Good, I hope Simcox wins. With all the trouble that the good people of AZ have been experiencing lately, I would think that any candidate who was soft on immigration reform would be in big trouble.

But we shall see...

Will McCain if beaten, run as a Indy, and break all ties with the GOP? Like Lieberman?

I’m a displaced Texan living in the blue hell of Maryland, and I’ve already contributed to Simcox! Adios, Juan!

I’d like to see McCain beat. He is very dangerous to conservatives in the Senate. He will help Obama.
He also believes in trade & cap.

McCain needs to go home. Maybe he will give his daughter a well-earned late-term spanking. And tell her to get a damn JOB?

McCain is too stupid to realize he lost the election because of his own Campaign Finance Reform bill.

Just a guess on my part but I don’t think Simcox could beat McCain. The man to watch instead is Russell Pearce.
